Q:

Mag indexing

My kricket was shooting just fine. Now suddenly the mag is not indexing right. I have to start to push the cocking lever back in and then move the mag back and forth until it lines up. I thought I saw something on this before but I can not find it. Any held or suggestions would be appreciated.

Dear Ballz…

That’s horseshit! Your topic header said “Mag indexing”….that confuses 95% of the brain surgeons on this forum. To talk to the Simple, you got to talk simple!!!

I been meaning to check out my 25 Cricket, I got to fiddle with the knob a little, But my 22 cricket is smooth as butter,
I may just have to buy the new part, I am not good at straighten, soldering and relining stuff,

Great find. I’ll watch for that one.

Good stuff Ballzy. Good thinking!

I would check first what Dimi3 wrote because there should be error when the problems suddenly occur.

Dear Ballz,

I assume this is for the Cricket??? The indexing problems have been mostly directed towards the Hummingbird. It might be wise to edit your title to say “Mag Indexing Cricket” so the Cricket people are directed to your posting.

Hoot:

I have found the problem with indexing of cricket magazines is down to the indexing cam bending upwards, when these parts are cut out with the EDM machine the cut left where the wire has gone in to cut the pin hole closes up causing the tip of the cam to move upwards, so when you cock the gun the indexing cam doesn’t move far enough down to align the next pellet, I have had 4 people come with the same fault, my solution to this problem is to put the gap so the 2 sides are parallel to each other and then fill the gap with silver solder to prevent the gap closing up again.

Also had this problem, folowed some other steps including answer above with the ball for magazin etc.., nothing seem to work with mine.
Then I thougth maybe protection plate part 40 is to thight , loosened the screws just a little and miraculasly it worked , magazine indexes correct again.
hope this helps

Dimi

If you have your cheek rest installed the mag maybe rubbing against it, try it without.

If not it could be part # 30, it may need some oiling and or adjustment.
