Q:

Magazine Index Mod

Somewhere in the weeks that I was waiting for my gun to arrive I ran across a post recommending a dab of fingernail polish as a means of indexing the Cricket magazine. Best mod ever! So easy and makes a huge difference…I like knowing how many are left! So, to the fella that posted the original idea, thanks!

What, we are sending Zonk in for alcohol and drug testing, :smilen:
Its red on the 25 Cricket mags and clear on the grind off 22 mags,,,,,
I can already tell you the 22 mod wins out hands down, The red does not show up in low light conditions .
But I will say your one O-ring mod to the magazine was one of the best things I did to keep dirt out of the magazines,
Mike

Let me get this straight Mike, Clear on your finger nails and red on your toes???? And we thought Hoot: was strange…..Must be a Texas thing. 😆 😆

I took it one step further and added clear finger nail polish I got from the wife, It makes the marks a little more shiny. This is on my 22 I used red polish on the 25 just as a test,

Ke3, Gregs talking about doing this to your mags….

you don’t have to worry about paint falling off and ending up in your chamber.

Good idea there Zork! Don’t know how many times I’ve dry fired thinking I had one more in the magazine. Rookie I know.

wow , I can not be leave no one has ask about the o rings in the magazine.
You take the two o rings out of the mag and replace them with one O ring , Keeps the mags from falling out.

I call them the Zonk O ring mod , He posted it up a while back and it was a very cheap and worth while mod…..
If you are shooting with the stock O rings in the magazine , Your not with the in crowd that shoots with only one O ring.
Mike

And do not forget the famous Zonk Oring mod to the magazine, One of the best magazine mods in my book….
Thanks
Zonk

I just went in the reading room and left a big Obama to test the theory.

He might be using a mirror to look at it.

Generally this discrepancy is found in different hemispheres of the Earth. Example: water in a toilet flushed in the Northern latitudes circles clockwise. Water in the Southern latitudes circles counter-clockwise. The same, it follows, applies to whether one uses a “count-down” or a “count-up” method of determining shot count.

Actually the water circulates the same direction in both hemispheres. It appears different because you are looking at the swirling water upside down in the opposite hemisphere.

I do not know about you. I always start at number 1.
Do you understand or want to draw?

Zonk has pointed out, correctly, that the numbers 1 through 14 can be started at either number. For instance, a magazine started at the number 14 has a “count-down” method of getting to only one shot left. Whereas, others might prefer to have the number “1” as their first shot, and count “up” to the 14th shot being the last one left. It all depends which way you orient your numbers on the magazine.

Zonk, a well known world traveler, has often argued that all water should flow straight down the drain in toilets, rather than undertaking a circular route. His logic is difficult to dispute!

Kind regards,

What number do you start on…………………..

When I bought my Cricket I also bought three more magazines. With a stripe of paper i made the numbering of each pellet chamber. I have some work to scale the exact distance of the numbers with the chamber of each pellet.

Simple and effective

You’d think as much shooting you do while “WORKING” you’d have time to do this small mod………
