Q:

MAMcrackin’s Beeman Falcon R

Well it looks like I have found myself another shooter….All I need now
is an LDC….Can’t wait to shove some 18.1gr in it.
Great gun. Thanks again vhag.
First the pictures, then the Chrony #’s, then the target @ 65yds.

Here is a 16 shot string with a fill of 3,300psi.
Notice the gun says 3,000psi or 205bars 😯 …
I know Walter, I am dangerous 🙄 but, there was no bell
curve @ 3,000psi… 😉

That is a sweet looking rifle you got there. How many airguns do you own? From what I’ve seen on here you have a great collection.

Thanks Metal Head.
Well I have owned just this year
1 Benjamin 392
1 Talon SS
2 Condors
1 BSA Sportsman
1 BSA Super Ten MkII
1 FX Cylcone
1 Beeman Falcon R
1 Mac1 US FT
I sold the Talon SS, and Sportsman, and traded the JDSairman
regulated Condor for the Falcon R.
SO!, in short I have 6 with a Theoben Rapid on order (and a couple
springer pistols that don’t really count)…Once I get the Rapid,
I think I am done…..At least that’s what I said when I bought the
US FT. I think I need to check into a rehab….They have no idea
how many of us would check in if they opened on up just for Airguns….
Maybe I could open one and use the profits to buy more guns…lol

One heck of an impressive group! I always wondered what that gun was like. Thanks for the pics!

Thanks PatrickStam , it seems like it will be a great gun…Trigger is
a little stiff but tolerable….I need to do some research and see if I
can reduce the trigger pull pressure….

Beautiful gun with good power. Too bad it has Beeman etched on it as I doubt he made it 🙂

Fill away, you know what you are doing.

BTW did you say how far away that was? the target?

Cheers,
Walter….

Walter, this and most of my groups (unless otherwise noted) are
at 65yds.
Mostly due to laziness but that is the full length of the range I have set up…
I shoot these groups with the rifle supported on a gun rest in the front (as shown in the pictures)
but, free floating and
shouldered in the back…It isn’t a double sand bag setup so, conceivably
these and my other groups could be tighter than they are…There is
an element of human error that should be factored into the results…
Tomorrow I am going to open a couple of gates and shoot across
the property. That will give me 100+ yards to play with and we will
really see if I and it can make a respectable group from that
distance…I read the manual and it gave instructions to keep the fill psi
@ or below 3,000psi to prevent valve lockup….So I shot the first string and
didn’t get a bell curve and I didn’t know how to reduce the hammer so
MORE psi was my only solution…3,400psi was too much and from what
I have heard of these tubes I figure it could handle the extra stress…
3,300-3,350 is perfect….

I got one of those, but in 25 caliber. It’s a heavy gun, but hits hard and fairly accurate. Extremely well made, an attractive rifle. I like mine a lot, especially the big bore.

Wow, I didn’t know they made one in .25 That’s is nice. These are
much lighter than the BSA S10. It is about the same as the FX
Cyclone. It is hard to believe
they put a Walnut stock on these much less a thumb hole. I think the
first time I shouldered it I stuck my thumb in the trigger guard… 😳
Feels weird. It also has the thumb groove in the top which is great too…..
Have you tried to smooth the finish? Do you know if the power
can be turned down? I like the power but the shot count is tiny….
I shot some yardages tonight and it shot so flat that I am going to do
it again tomorrow just to make sure….
I have it zeroed @ 13.5yds and that puts the second zero right on 65yds…
The amazing thing (if it turns out to be the same tomorrow) is that @
20, 25, 30, 35, & 40 it is shooting 3 mildots high…There is usually
some seperation between those yardages…We will see tomorrow…

Beautiful gun with good power. Too bad it has Beeman etched on it as I doubt he made it 🙂
