When I got my first Edgun, I put my cheek on cold metal that was not close to being comfortable. I think I got the bolt stuck in my ear at least twice…but then I’m clumsy.
I had to un-shoulder the gun every time I shot. A major undertaking. One which an electronic Edgun will overcome with semi-auto loading.
Accuracy? Accuracy is easy to come by today in most decent air guns. Probably 98% of the forum members cannot shoot to the capability of their air guns.
The bullpup is a “niche” gun. It does a certain thing very well. That “thing” is being short and light, but retaining full power and capacity.
That’s it. It’s not a gun for everyone. For some it’s the only gun. It’s perfect for a “Truck Gun”, or when you need to conceal your piece.
Personally, I would like a Lelya because it’s the shortest of the short and the lightest of the light. It’s an extreme bullpup for close range.
I’ve forgotten what I point I was going to make, I guess I’ll stop here and take my pills.

Every muscle in my body tells me that the edgun is NOT the gun for me when shooting competition.
BUT, it just happens that I shoot good with it..
When I grab my friends guns, like a styer, AA, Theoben or … whatever ‘normal’ rifle, it feels so much more comfortable but… for me there is no added joy factor.
There are people that just want a solid shooting gun, I want a bit exiting thing too 🙂
I purchased the mag. I will let everyone know how well it works.

like I said, we do have a bit of data on the Russian product but nothing for end user impressions now that production has moved to the Czech Republic.

these days Dennis is one of a number of Big Bore makers but has that damaged the scalpers market on DAQ guns? Hell no…!
has had about zero effect on the inflated resale value of DAQs

I agree that if you are shooting from a bench or shooting table, the magazine is no benefit, but do you guys ever do walk-in hunting with your Edgun? It’s a lot easier to manually index a magazine to load the next pellet than it is to manually load a pellet without a a magazine. And if you add cold and/or wet conditions or gloves, the difference is even greater.
Is that he best design? Of course not. But is it an added convenience for some cis=rcumstances? Sure is.
Ever consider the ridiculous positions you need to get in so you can consummate the act with a consenting person/thing? Shooting a bullpup is a similar undertaking. You can get the job done, but it lacks the finesse of a full size, form fitted, rifle.

There is an Edgun on the Yellow right now with the magazine option installed for sale.
If you have to index it each time it makes no sence like Riverside said.
As far as magazine fed air rifles, for me this makes much more sence, 50 regulated 47 FPE shots with the usual JSB King superb accuracy.
However bear in mind, as a rifleman, I have just never warmed up to Bullpups.

I just enjoy switching from one personality to another. Sometimes I see an opening to make a comment on some issues. Never take me too seriously. This place is all about having fun, and perhaps learning something from time to time.
Riverside I hear you loud and clear. The US sellers are going to try to cut a fat hog at first. I know nothing about the Cricket personally. Still, I`d like to get my hands on a .25 and see how she holds up.
Zocoloco told all of us what we know. He seemed to think the .22 was ok, perhaps a bit lighter build quality than one of Ed`s tanks.
Cricket is coming out with a .35 next year….yep, a .35 and times are going to get real interesting.
If the bullpup market holds up, there will be a lot to choose from in the next few years. Still, I think most shooters won`t want a bullpup as their primary gun.
Perhaps I`m wrong.

the prices you shot are those in the Netherlands, I seem to recall being quoted Edgun prices on those shortly being imported Stateside.
let’s get to reality here, the only advantage the Cricket would seem to offer is a magazine…let that sink in a moment as the rifle itself is still manually operated thus defeating much of any so-called advantage as you still can not operate the action from the shoulder…
magazines on a manually operated bull pup rifle are mostly a sad joke
I would feel different if we were talking semi auto or even a slide action, pump style repeater but not a bolt or side lever
remember always you get what you pay for…

yeah my friend, thats correct, same range as a new Edgun and that’s a factory gun, not a semi custom.
another point is that has ANYONE even handled the new Czech production Crickets or is everyone basing their praise on Zooloco’s Russian manufactured specimen?
I think the truth is no one stateside has any real hands on with the Czech version, just a bunch of vids, cartoons & BS
anyways while an Edgun may not be worth 3, 4 grand…neither is a Austrian Steyr A1 AUG
there has been an attempt to manufacture a cheaper AUG by Microtech and given it’s fit, finish, performance it pales next to the Austrian built A1 or A2
point is lower MSRP doesn’t mean superior
if you want a cheaper Bullpup AG you could always hunt up one of the Frenchie FAMAS military trainers 😆

little about this magazine after using one for the past 10 months. Its
machined to fit the .22 R3 Edgun using delrin and brass as material.
Held in place by one small strong magnet. It sits a little over one inch (1.080) above receiver, I have med. scope mounts on my R3, high mounts not required to use this mag. This RUBBISH sells pretty good, think I’ll machine some more trash. Thanks for the review.[/quote]

Wow, I watched the vid and it sure made me feel dumb. All I had to do was buy a FX receiver and start cutting on my Edgun till it fit. I know myself and alot of others have thought about doing this but without screwing up the value of their gun. Now if your friends name is Ed……..
