Q:

Marauder .25 tuneing.

So I was reading sacshooter’s post, Help put air tank fill locations on the map in general chat. I clicked on the link. it brought me to his BETA page wich had a link to marauderairgun.com I click on 25 cal. Marauder. The very first post is about a Hammer O-ring mod. I click on that topic and click on a link that brought me to this topic on the yellow.
So I implement the mod using a 1″ rubber grommet. Now my FPS/FPE went way down But I now get 30 shots from 1800 PSI down to 1000 PSI. I was getting only 16 shots before mod. My FPS is now 650 FPS and goes down to 585 FPS. That’s with the Hammer spring fully compressed and striker fully in. More tuning to come.
I think this mod is a better depinger.

my tank has been out of hydro for over a year now, no place in town to get it done…. I dropped it off at the welding shop to get sent out then the shop cut ties with who they had doing it so I have an empty tank back….
I was still filling it at the f/d ’till the chief took a look at the tank and said no more… oh well, guess he didn’t like seeing that tank for the last year wile it was out of date… lol

now I’m back to the old hand pump for a bit 😥

Take a trash can and draw a line in it and fill it with water when you first get the tank. Put the tank in it empty and see how far the water comes up on the inside of the trash can. That is going to be your reference point, Mark it.
Then presurize the tank, and push it back inside of the water, and see how far the water goes upon the inside of the Trash can, that is your pressurize reference, Mark it.
taken for granit that you looked in the tank when new to see if it had any chips or lines in it when new, Make a reference of it.
When it comes time to check the tank, and if you’ve taken good care of the tank and dont let it set in dampness and dust a corode. When it is time to check your tank, Let the air out, Look inside for any abnormalities, look at the outside for any pitting or dents a scrapes that are cutting into the tank, After all the tank is Aluminum, Next put some divers grease on the oring and replace the valve, concidering all looks good by reference, Then Place it in the Trash Can filled to the reference point with water you begain with and see if the tank has swelled. If not then Fille it back up to the Max Air you been using, push it back in the tank and see if it is on the reference point you made for the full tank or at least close.
That’s the way Pochahuntas welding supply test their tanks and their tanks are fill by the Cubic feet and cold will be less pressure and hot will be more pressure, so you’ll still get the cubit feet but temperature wise it could be 2800 if it cold and 3200 if its hot. Temperature makes the difference in air, so test the tank with the same temp…. And record it.
If the tank rises more than a Half Inch when tested filled, I’d advise you to not use the tank, But of corse it’s up to you to do this right and use all references above..
I don’t take responsibilities for any damages on this test but it is the one used by our suppliers for over 30 years+….
Now you can test your own tank using the described method above. If the tank shows good leave the air in it and start shooting LOLOL… 😀

Have you aquired more .25 pellets? If so, which ones?

I see the link (just don’t care)

I love my compressor (in a platonic way)

I’ll fill your expired tanks (we can sit outside and see if I have a claim to file)

What’s a hand pump?

It is used for bike tires.

AIR! This is why I stopped buying guns and bought my compressor. The Shoebox wasn’t out yet..so I spent a bunch of money. I’m very happy with my Hammworthy. The Shoebox is perfect for us airgunners. Save every dime. Collect aluminum cans and plastic bottles. Do whatever you have to to get a Shoebox compressor. The .25 Marauder NEEDS AIR!!! You should be starting at 3000psi, (some start at 3200 which i am not recommending.) 2000psi is where you should be refilling. You willl be sooo much happier with the results. Just sayin’.

lol… every once and a wile just to keep things in tune…

wile I may be with out a significant other right now… I still have no problems in that department 😉

GTBJ,

I think you have been using the ‘ole hand pump’ more than you would like to period. 😛

There is always the shoebox if you can swing it. I know I can’t yet.

For some reason the link I posted to the Yellow forum kept the post from being seen.

Your are both nuts. I read that post three times and there is absolutely NO link visible!

Does anyone else, besides Scott, see a link? I say it’s NOT there. “More tuning to come.” and then just a sign-off.

Update: I took my meds and put my glasses on. Now I can see the link and the pc screen too!!!
