Q:

Marauder Makeover .25

Decide to strip the stock and fit it to me better.
I started with 180 grit on my orbital sander to narrow down the butt and remove the diamond grip and BENJAMIN stamp. I then hand sanded with 220 before moving to 500 and now I’m ready for the 1000. I’ll keep this updated as I may do some CUTTING 😉

That thing stepped on a landmine with its beek! lol
Come on what did you shoot him with a cannon? lol

Still shooting straight

Don’t use a sponge brush on poly or clear coat = more work.
So the sponge’s work great with the stain but leaves bubbles in clear or poly coat. Take’s endless Stroking 😯 of the brush/sponge, Gent’s, to keep the bub’s at bay. Either way here is second coat of poly after a 1200 sand sesh. 1 more sand and I’m done. For now, maybe.
Scope camera mount came in. I need to drive to town and get it get this bad boy sighted back to, Death on Arrival, MOA Because on the way to the trash, I seent 5 bushy tail freaks hanging out in a group on a string of barbed wire. Within a HUNDRED yards. Hurry up n dry.

you have worked hard i know, if you want to seal and have flat finish, you can clear coat it then sand it or steal wool it to get satin finish. hope it works out for you

walmart sells a Flat clearcoat
]works well if ya do several LIGHT coats

Thank you. I been staring at it for the last 2 hours. 😆
It’s growing on me. I think I will like it alot better put together.
The good it, It feel’s way more comfy.

Looks nice!

Ok . So It did not come out as I imagined. Although I wanted camo and Feel I got a camo look. I wanted to see the grain, I got that. Either way it was a ton of work. I sanded and stained so many time’s. I wanna shoot it.. This is the first coat of poly and I still got to sand after each coat. Any how LAY it on me

I did’t want to finish gloss but i gotta seal it. I’m trying to read how to cut the poly to dry flat. I may have to poly then sand 1000 or 1200 and leave it to be dull.

i’m kinda startin’ to like that 😀 . i was getting worried when i first saw that bright-assed green in the first pics, but that’s really starting to look like something. you’re not gonna finish that in a gloss clear, i hope.

Hey man you cant mess up , its yours. 🙂

i was just talking about the way the forearm was cut, not the lamination. just go with it brother.

Well here is one more coat layed on over the black. I mixed all three to come up with a dark green clear almost. More sanding in 3hrs 59min 😕
Then i’m sure i’ll start with the lighr green again. Each time you sand you reveal other colors you can’t see now that will show after the final sanding
and adding the poly. Good expeirament for a fancier camo.
High Class Red Neck boy’s :2:
We will see.
Great Work out.

Still wet. 😉

PB I believe those stocks are dyed glued into a big block and whittled down to that.

Still gotta lotta work to do. Each one of those colors gets sanded back to wood grain.

Well… It is different. You don’t see finishes like that everyday. 😯

I saw this on the yellow. I like how he trimmed the stock.
