Matador .25 r3m long
Hi guys just had a bad experience with a kalibr cricket .25
My question is how got is the edgun matador .25 r3m long out of the box?? I’ve heard so many people with issues saying they will need tuning to get them right with lots of other issues..there are also lots that say they are good.
I’m over in England and have found a place to purchase the gun but what I do not want to do is have the same hassle as the cricket which had an air leak that just would not go and spent more time in the shop than in my hands..cricket was very consistent from shot to shot and was very accurate with jsb Kings 25.4 grain and H&N barracuda 31 grains
I own a daystate air ranger .22 at 40ft lbs which I love and is spot on but I’d like the extra knock down power of .25
The gun is a lot of money to spend and have issues straight away and there is not many people over here that will tune the gun for me..I’ve not worked on my air rifles ever as over here it’s easy to just send back to manufacturer..please can you advise me weather or not it’s worth me buying an edgun or not?? Thanks guys

I’ve had an R3M .25 long for just about a year. I did a bit of polishing to smooth out the cocking mechanism. It’s not really required, but a good project for a tinkerer. I’ve also fitted a small plastic plug in the fill port. Tony offers a classier brass plug for those so inclined…
Operationally the EDgun has just worked reliably and accurately under a variety of conditions (hot, cold, wet, dusty). I’ve got a 1000 or so rounds through it with no problems.
Accuracy is very good, particularly at longer ranges, but it took a bit of effort to learn how to shoot it properly. The right hold and posture make a difference.
My experience with shot-to-shot muzzle velocity variation matches what others have reported here.
On the whole, I’ve had no trouble taking care of the R3M. Ed’s videos have been helpful.
