Q:

Matador .25cal vs Matador .22 cal @ 65yds

I decided to put the two guns in their own 65yd competition… The .25cal shot the
smallest group… The .25cal is shooting JSB 25.4gr @ approx. 915FPS. The
.22 cal is shooting JSB 18.1gr @ approx. 885FPS.

I supported the front of the gun with a bag. I supported the rear of the
gun with my left hand fingers under and between the rear of the stock and
the shooting table while shouldering the butt… The pistol grip was not
toughing anything…. My results are not as good when I have my hand under
the front of the gun when shooting off of the bench…

Good groups as always mam 😎

Yes, getting it in a gun vice at 100 or even 65 would be very interesting. For all our guns for that matter……

You’re absolutely right Ted…. I was worried for a while but it seems that the
gun, pellet, speed combination is as close as I can get it to perfect…. The
point of aim is the center of each black circle and I think my hold is what is
causing the POI to move around.. I am going to go out on a limb and say that
the inconsistencies in the targets are all me and not the gun or pellets…. I
would love to see what it would do in a gun vise at 2-300yds….

That looks every bit as good as my .22. I don’t think you can (or should) expect any more. Not being preachy – just sayin’ it’s shooting damn well. You gotta be happy with the way things have tightened up since its arrival. :thumb:

Matador .25cal targets @ 65yds…

Good deal eddie… You won’t regret it…..

Great shooting Mam as always both the 22 and 25 look good to me I am in the process of a trade for an Edgun so when I do I afraid I might have a question or two so just preparing you in advance 😉 Should be a fun time I am sure I will keep you posted for sure! Eddie

quote Ted in Madison:

What was the wind like today? I wasn’t so in tune with just how much it can blow a pellet off course until a video I made revealed a pellet getting blown 1/2″ in the last 20 yards of a 100 yard shot by a very light breeze. I think I’m going to invest in one of those Casio slo-mo cameras soon.

If I didn’t know what you were already capable of, I might think you were just a bit wobbly. But, then I’d take a look at those two, very nice groups… Guys who can not shoot do not get that lucky…;) Maybe one shot – not 4 more.

Ted, you are absolutely right about the wind or light breezes but, the
wind was non-existent this morning…. My brain is a little wobbly
which translates obviously to paper….. Just a little doubt, frustration,
and/or lack of attention makes for a larger group than necessary.
Settling into the zone is what is my most difficult task…. The gun will
shoot tight groups all day, I just have to learn how to line it up on the
same spot every time and keep it there until well after the shot has been
released….

The wind was blowing this afternoon.
I shot this group @ 65yds. It had about a 0.115″ deviation in elevation
but was 0.793″ wide. I am going to blame the wind for that one..lol…

Ho Hum right? Perfection would be boring anyways….lol

BTW, I tried some Hornady #3 lead buck shot today….
FYI.. I am not gonna be shooting #3 buck shot.

One more FYI. This group was shot right after I shot the #3 buck shot.. I
did not clean the barrel nor did I shoot a bunch of pellets before I shot
this group… I have heard many times that changing pellets can effect
accuracy but it does not seem as though it made any difference this
time…

I’ll take group three to go!!!

Ah, add the fries too. 😆

Ahhhh sir, could you pull around to the front? The fries will be about
7 minutes… We will bring your order out to you… Thank you….

that is a tiny group at 65 yds. the local vermin must be relocating !

Thanks Acedoc. I think the vermin got the hint when the 1st EDgun showed
up… Haven’t seen much since…lol
