What group size & at what speed your shooting them ?
I too can confirm that polymags .25 works well!
Ted’s review stats that the R3 loves the .25 Predator pellets, so I am interested in others with the R3 in .25 & if they tried these.
I think it would be good to have a sticky for Diffrent pellets at Diffrent speeds on Diffrent Bullpups.
What do you guys think ?!
Hey Ted I can tell you haven’t done the de-pinger…you can clearly hear that on the vid….and I have a request….could you show the difference in decibel readings from your .22 cal edgun to the new R3….

I like thin, petite women; I donāt do āmuffin topsā or āDunlopsā. I am sure that you know what a muffin top is and a Dunlop is where the trying to be a hottieās belly has dun lopped over her belt!
I just got my R3 25 standard and I havenāt had a chance to go hunting with it yet. The extra weight and length of the longs didnāt bother me that much in the R2.5s but: I am an oldgoat and I need a good gun rest to hit something with either gun!
I prefer the 25 caliber over the 22 and the 25 standard gets around 40 regulated shots at 885 fps. My 25 long gets 70 regulated shots at 885 fps.
The 25 standard is going to be my truck gun for trips out into the country. If I see something that needs shot; it will be easier to stick out of the window. For anything else, I will use the long version.
Hey Mike; you will get the valve eventually. If my bullets donāt work; sell them at the local junk yard for scrap!
If they work, I should get my molds back from Veral next week and I will see if I can size them down to .251ā also.

So is the jury is still out on the long vs std R3 .25? Just a matter of personal preference? More bench vs hunting use?
I just compared my R3 25 standard against my R3 25 long and the difference is indeed a little under 6ā! I donāt think that Ed has changed the length on the guns between the R2.5 and R3 versions. When I compared my two R2.5 guns, I must have had a faulty tape measure; the beers couldnāt have had anything to do with my results! I guess I didnāt know as much as I thought I did! š³

Yea I might have made a mistake when ordering my edgun…at the time I thought the .22 standard would be perfect cause on the website it says “suits most needs” but now that I come to think of it…I’m also 6’2 and have “big boy arms” and I’m afraid the standard is going to feel like a toy gun in my hands….can’t do much of that problem now being that I already sent in my down payment….as for the stock I’m going to email tony and see what the price and wait time there is to buy the R3 stock painted cause I never liked wood color stocks.

I tried predator pellets (my squirrel pellets) they shot awesome!
I could not tell group difference or size from JSB’s
I have been shooting mine out of the box and found accuracy pretty darn good so far. I have not even run it across the chrono yet.
I am having too much fun shooting it!

Nice video. I got my R3 0.22 Std, but do not like the sharp edge at all. I would like the black/grey/tactical version more too.

JR, Out of box the gun was shooting JSB Kings at 950fps, and groups were 0.5 – 1.0″ at 50 yards. I just dialed it down (via the hammer hand screw) to 910. Oh – and shot the hell out it (broke it in). š
Tedd, I should just copy and paste everything you write strait to my blog :). I don’t know anyone (save Ed) that knows this gun better than you. I’m pretty sure you could build one, given the tools. I think the “bullpup community” would agree that I need to road-trip down to IL this year and make a video with you. Yeah, we’d be focusing on the Edgun, but you always have a project on your table that is ahead of the curve. I think a lot of folks would be interested. Plus (and arguably more important) you could work your magic on my Matador, and show the world how to get theirs into “Tedd Shape”. Just a thought. Marinate on that. š
As for your comment re: the length of the two guns had me scratching my head. 4″ just did not seem like enough. So, I got out the measuring tape, and my R3 Long is nearly 6″ longer than my R2.5 Standard. Not sure if it’s an R2.5 vs R3 thing. But, that’s what I’m getting.
The biggest issue with the Long is the extra pound “hanging” out there on the muzzle end. To me, it makes the gun handle completely different from my standard. I lose the “bullpup feel” with the long – it just feels like a standard rifle. No doubt, this is due in large part to the fact that my fore-grip is so close to the trigger. That puts a lot of cantilever on my hold.

Hello Ted, another great video from you! If I can add a couple of points:
The R3 Matadorās trigger can be adjusted down to where it is almost āmatch gradeā.
My longs are only around 4ā longer than my standards. I know that the longs seem a LOT longer but, put them both side to side and the actual difference is only around 4ā. If you think that your R3 25 cal long version is long, just try swinging a 30 cal FX Boss around in your work shop without knocking something over!
The text after your video says that your R3 25 long gets 55 regulated shots with a max deviation of 20 fps. You are shooting at 915 fps, IF you would adjust the reg and HST and get the gun down to 880-890 fps, you should get at least 65-70 regulated shots.
I have a R3 25 cal standard that I have tuned some. It is currently getting around 44 regulated shots at 885 fps with a MD of 12 fps. I plan on turning the reg up a little and adjusting the HST some. I want to see a 8-10 MD over 40-42 shots.
