Q:

Matador Shroud/LDC

Hey guys with the Edgun sale going on I’ve been getting a lot of request for Shroud/LDC. I will be happy to make you a shroud/ldc combo for the Cricket but I refuse to make one for the Matador. Not because I like to be a dick 🙂 But I’ve had my own personal experience with aftermarket CF shrouds for the R3M and it was very frustrating because unlike the Cricket, the Matador needs the torque of the baffle nut to push the shroud into the scope tower and align the barrel. When you use a slip on shroud held by a grub screw, that grub screw is not going to prevent the barrel from moving. A slight bump of the shroud will throw off your POI. I also had the screw on version but even with the screw on, you can not torque it like the baffle nut or else it’ll break free from the Carbon fiber. The best thing for your gun if you want to keep the accuracy and close to OEM is by contacting John Hagan and get his baffle cover which also has a 1/2 x 20 male adapter. John’s contact is: hagantool@aol.com

I don’t care who you buy an LDC from, just don’t make the mistake that I and a few others made and save your money and get the adapter. You’ll sleep better afterwards :8:

It has been a long time since I bought mine from John, I don’t remember how much it cost so contact him for a quote. Originally they were silver and shiny but he has since made them shorter and matte black. I’ve decided to CF wrap my adapter and OEM shroud.

Good job Sloth that looks awesome!

So, I tried sandpaper alone, 2k grit. Looked like hell. 😆 Ended up spraying it with clear matte. Happy with the result.

I haven’t tried to mess with the gloss but I do have some prototype cans that I can test on. I’ll get back to you this weekend.

Looks good, Donny. So far your LDC works nicely, and I hope to get some accuracy testing in this weekend if it’s not too cold out. I’ve also got some 3M 1080 coming in to wrap my adapter and rear shroud because I can’t handle the mis-matched black on the adapter… right now my gun looks the equivalent of a freshly detailed Lambo with a primered quarter panel…

I’m also considering knocking back some of the gloss on your LDC. Was just going to hit it with some 2k grit wet sandpaper and see what happens. Any advice?
