Matador vs FX 500
I have to admit I don’t have an extensive collection nor experience with ‘higher-end’ pcp rifles but, I have to say I am in awe with my Edgun today! I just received it this afternoon and immediately rushed to punching paper and zeroing in my scope on her, to prepare her for hunting bunnies tonight. Needles to say, I’m more than likely gonna sell my FX 500, even though I only purchased it less than 2 months ago. I was wondering how and what is the best way to mount a harris bipod on my new Edgun?? Btw, shot 7 rounds tonight in 45 mins and dispatched 5 bunnies. (I was kinda pressed for time…)

I absolutely love it. I’m not too bothered about the whole single shot thing! It’s compactness, accuracy, consistency and quality of build surpassed my expectations.

Question,…do I really need a bipod?? I do most of my shooting off a bag when I’m punching paper but, when I’m hunting I use shooting sticks. Feedback pls???
Yes Yes…def in a league of its own!! I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t. I’m already on the wait list for the .25!!! I can’t wait.
I was in a similar situation just last week. Sold my beautiful FX400. It was a tack driver, quiet, and smooth when shooting. I just never seemed to reach for it when pulling a gun out to shoot. And when I got my EDgun .25 long last week I decided to post the FX 400 for sale.

What: did you think that us Matador owners were just full of shit when we talked about how awesome our guns are?
I got my R2.5 Matador about 3 years ago, loved it! Ed posted here that he was working on a 25 cal long version. I immediately ordered one from Tony. I bought a 22 cal FX Royale 400 to make a bull pup out of it while I was waiting for the 25 Matador to come in. I got it built and was happy with it. Then my R2.5 25 cal long came in. I haven’t shot the FX since then. I guess that I should sell it.
My FX is a well made gun but, it isn’t in the same league as the Matador!
I haven’t owned a Daystate, Steyr or a AZ tuned Rapid so, I don’t know about the other “high end” guns.
I just buy a sling mount/bipod screw from the local gun shop. I drill an under sized hole in the stock and then screw it in. The screw goes between the first 2 slots in the fore end. It takes some courage to drill the first screw hole into an Edgun! It gets a little easier on the 4th Matador but, I am still a little apprehensive when drilling the hole!
I am sure that a local gun shop would do a better job than I do. I really isn’t that hard to do after you start.
I think that the Matador really shines in the 25 cal. Get on the list for a R3 25 long, you won’t regret it!

I love FX rifles though. And I have Royale 400 that is regulated and its a tackdriver. And it is a multishot.
I think I might sell it when I can get my hands on Multishot conversion kit for my 2.5 =)
