maths

Hi all. I have a regulator on the way that will keep my club shooting at 12foot lb.

The problem I am having now is trying to work out what psi I need to get the same 21.4 gr pellet flying along at 40foot lb or somewhere in that region.

Is there a formula that can be used to work this out?

I have a 24″.22 barrel and BN valve.

If there is no formula available is there anyone out there with a similar setup?

Every gun is different. You will have to balance your top hat, dial adjustment if you have one, and use a chrony to tune her in. There really is no short cut.

Well that’s a bloody helpful link I will put it in my bookmarks next time I am on the internet. I am using my blackberry at the moment.

All I need to do is work out what PSI I need now. Any ideas?

If I have a regulated system and know what FPS it is shooting would it be simply maths ie

PSI @ 800 ÷ FPS @ 500 = ???
Then use this ??? Figure in multipuls until I get to the level I require.

I recon its more complicated then that but if you have a formual please post it.

You need to move a 21.4 gr pellet at 917.57fps to get 40fpe. I don’t like maffs so i use http://www.1728.com/energy.htm to figure such things.
