Q:

Maudy 2nd report. #26 came via UPS yesterday. Now with video

Update: now with video scroll down a few to get the youtube link…

Pretty much a copy past of what I posted on the yellow forum…

Marauder #26 in 22 caliber came via UPS yesterday! My first shot was into the lawn and I could not believe what I heard. I thought it was a missfire or partial fire because I saw the pellet go into the grass but all I heard was a ping and murmur/humm from the Maudy followed by a sound from a tuning fork (low pitched hum). I went back to my piano and figured it was in the key of “g”.

I don’t have a chrony so I used the next best thing…a 1/4″ plywood book case with another 1/4″ used for the shelves and fired at a downward 45 degree angle. Well, I got the same ping and it went clear thru the plywood like it wasn’t there!

For my next shot I didn’t pull the bolt all the way back (needs some getting used to for me as well as some wear-in) proceeded to push the pellet into the chamber and nothing happened when I pulled the trigger. I figured out that I didn’t pull the bolt all the way back. So to prevent another pellet from entering the chamber, I pulled the bolt back (all the way this time), removed the magazine and fired another shot at some plywood. Pretty much does the same damage as my stock TalonSS but the report is quieter (GTB on the TSS). To me this gun’s trigger is very smooth and the overall shooting experience is “buttery” (except for the bolt action that needs some breaking-in).
I was in the market for a Daystate repeater but after seeing and getting this Marauder, that gap is now successfully filled for me happy.gif

Needs a de-pinger. Like a lot of other guhs including Airforce. With ours though it’s difficult to stuff one that fits through that luttle hole. 😀

Now Thats more like it!

Looks like a Shooter to Me! 😀

With all due respect, I wish you guys would stop calling it “Maudy”. Every time I see that a picture of Bea Arthur pops into my head.

Does anyone know if JSB Predators will work in it?

I read that the JSB predators are slightly too long for the magazine but I have NOT see pics of this.

And here’s what it sounds like. Keep in mind the sound of that hum like a tuning fork. Pretty much any other sound is really the pellet making an impact and the camcorder overcompensating/adjusting for noise level (or lack thereof). That’s why I shot some plywood for comparison in sound.
I tried to minimize any pellet impacting sounds by shooting into my lawn, which in retrospect, is something I’m not going to do in the future.
