Max-Air 35 STD GS
I believe this is my next air compressor, going with gas so I don’t have fool with wiring in electric. Guy said his best electric performer is the 220v unit. Base unit $2995. Best thing the mfg plant is a hour drive away. Bad is 8.25% tx sales tax.

$2995 is a great deal for that brand since they normally sell them for around $3500. They buy the Coltri compressors from Italy and put their own filter upgrade, filler and sticker on them and have been doing them for a LONG time.
While they are $2900 from other dealers, you would have to spend up to $190 in shipping so you are better off just dropping in and buying locally. Plus you have a local guy to do your service for you when you need it.
Once you get it, keep it clean, change the oil regularly (I like to do it at about 25 hours run time or once a year … whichever comes first) and keep your filters changed as needed. Blow down the separator (the tower with the relief valve sticking out) about every five minutes for a few seconds. I know the manual tells you to do it every ten to fifteen minutes, but I am a cheap skate and by blowing down more often, my filter cartridges last longer. Good for me? No … I sell them and if they last longer, I make less. :biggrinn:
When you done with the compressor for a while, make sure you drain BOTH the separator and the filter towers to get all the water out before storing. As a minimum, start up and run the compressor for at least 10 minutes every month to heat up the system enough to chase off any moisture in the oil. The compressor is splash lubricated so a little fog coming out of the inlet filter is normal … that’s the way we lubricate the first stage piston.
As I said before … KEEP IT CLEAN! The biggest enemy of ANY compressor is heat and dirt is an insulator that keeps in that heat.
Well, I guess that is enough babbling for now. Have fun with your new compressor!
