Medium size Bird at 50yds
I am still getting use to the new Talon SS and love it by the way….I throw the cross hairs on a bird this morning out at about 50yds to see what this things will do and figure I need a little hold over, so I give it 1 mil dot high….(I am zeroed at 15yds)….I let the first round go and the bird looks around trying to figue out what just went passed…2nd shot I line up with cross hairs in the middle of the body…Same thing ..Just over it’s head..It still doesn’t know what’s going on and hasn’t heard a thing….3rd shot I give it about 1 mil dot low and let it flew….The shot takes about 3 feathers off of the bird’s back and still, he looks around confused…Well to say the least a few seconds after the 3rd shot he decided to roost somewhere else and flew off….This Talon SS is just incredible…Can’t wait to put the 18″ barrel on….Just point and shoot….WOW! just thought I would share…..

Yes nice LEO all the birds in my freezer are Ring Neck Dove not a single one would be an American Dove. I do not eat American.
of course it depends on what kind of dove too………..the Euraisian Doves (sp?) are a non native species (pest, just like feral pidgeons in most areas) and not protected/regulated as the Morning Doves are.
Not to try to play Po-Po here, but Dove with an airgun is illegal…..
I think that here it is illegal to shoot any bird that is not in flight 😯

and I hear ya on the gumbo…. head shot means no damaged meat… kinda hard to do with a scattergun! 😉
I can’t play dumb on that one rob3dr…I knew that…I am trying to make a gumbo and I only need a few more…I am a few mile out in the county so it really isn’t a whole lot of worry….But I hear ya!
