Q:

MK1 valve and thread lock??

Did the MK1 valves (1 piece, no brass face and ready O ring modded) come pre loctited?? I tried to take my valve spring retainer out on my MK1 valve and It Isn’t for shifting. On closer Inspection It looks like there’s some thread lock or similar been used on the threads so how’s best to get the spring retainer out assuming It Is loctited??

No probs 😉

Thanks Fusion.

It’s just the first design of valve Talon used. It didn’t have the removable front plate which Is made of brass on the newer valves and It also came ready O ring modded. AFAIK there not made any more and alot of people seem to prefer the MK1 valve.

Off topic. Who makes the MK1 valve? Link?

Tried that first Pab. I was there for a good while and It still wouldn’t budge. I had to wrap the metal valve In a cloth as It got that hot but still the thread lock wasn’t softening!!

Try warming it a little with a hair dryer first then give it another try 😉

No? It looks to be red/orange on the very small amount of thread I can see. I was tempted to use acetone but think It will damage the valve spring retainer. Will Isopropanol do the job but be kinder on the plastic retainer?
