I recently got some nice chunks of walnut. I will throw up a few pics when I get a chance. They will look pretty good. We also had a huge oak cut up. Those 1/4 sawn pieces will look amazing too.
Wow Awahl, that is real nice work! I did some stock modifications to a cricket synthetic and got some bed liner to spray it with, but have not done so yet. That looks very nice. Hope it works as well on the synthetic material of the stock I whittled on. My brother is a woodworker and I’m going to show him these pics! He will flip out! A good walnut stump grade stock would be fantastic… wood would probably cost more than the gun!
Yes, still pretty lightweight. One of the things that I love about the Condor is the light weight. I really didn’t want it to be heavy or clunky. It does feel a little more bulky obviously, but in my opinion, it is really comfortable and a lot more comfortable to shoulder and shoot. I am kinda tall, so I wanted to increase its length of pull a bit. You can see the stock extends beyond the back of the air tank a little. The stock AirForce buttpad bolts directly onto the wood stock in the back. Overall, it is really stiff, and the frame flex doesn’t concern me anymore.
It is made of Poplar wood. I made another out of rock maple. The maple was nearly twice as heavy as the poplar. The stock is 18.2 oz. I painted it with like 5 coats of truck bed lining. I really like the feel. There is a nice texture.
Honestly, I really like the look of wood. I would like to make a nice one out of walnut, or curly maple or some combo and leave it wood grain. I am not sure that I have seen an AirForce of any kind with a wood grain stock. I attached a couple of pictures of the stock before painting to show you what I mean. It had no sanding, and was just roughed out at the point the picture was taken.
As far as tools, I am a woodshop teacher, so I have some cool stuff to work with. Truthfully though, it could easily be done with your basic jigsaw, and a drill with a holesaw. A router would save time, and maybe a table saw for a couple of cuts that would save you time as well, but you could do it without any of them. It would just cost some more time.

Very nice ! What type of material did you use? Wood i assume ? What type ? What all tools did you use to fashon it?
That’s a nice piece of workmanship Awahl. Is it pretty lightweight? Good job my friend!

They don’t make a wrap for our guns so I ordered a “gear skin” and cut it myself! Very easy!

what model gun did you order when you ordered the wraps?
Well it looks sweet on there i have. Een contemplating rigging up a bipod made from a base of a scope ring and mabe some small hinges a spring and a pair of legs of some sort but we will see it looks good in my mind but idk how it will play out in life
That’s just the Air Force bipod! I disassembled it and turned it over to mount on the top rail. That way I could still shoot off of shooting stick without removing it when hunting. I fixed the “wobble” by installing a split lock washer between the two sections. To get the legs to fold up when mounted upside down, I ground down the inside blind nuts to clear the chassis of the gun. Works great!

Wildfire what bipod is that gou have on their it is very intresting
Thanks Hunter!
It’s a vinyl wrap from gun skins.com. They have many different patterns to choose from and easy to apply!

Hey wildfire, how did you do your paint job? It looks sweet!
I installed a recoil pad from another old break barrel on my factory Air Force shoulder stock. It helped a lot. I also made my own cheek pieces from some old stuff that was laying around the garage. Click on my signature picture to get a larger view!
