mold doubts
Hello everyone, i have to ask the more experienced ones the following :

With my setup i got .56 grain cast bullet around 968 fps with a LW 20″ barrel and 100 gram hammer.

.25 is a hard bullet to get molds for. I’m having a 70 gr made by LBT right now.
What if i lube them? will it be less drag ? Do you know the size of the nose?
Yes it’s a LW .25 unchoked , i slugged it so it’s .254 more likely …i must check it again with a micrometer this time…not with a electronic digital caliper
Is this a .25 barrel have a choke? The Lyman 420 mold doesn’t size down to .251 real good. Makes the bullet ride on the gas check and the nose so it has a lot more drag.

You can size it to .25500″. You might be disappointed on your fps though. 74 gr with a condor valve is going to be 800-850 fps if that.
I know Knifemaker was 920 ish with my valve and a 21″ barrel. Then he cut the mold down to 56 gr and is at 1000 fps now. This is .257 though.
