Q:

Moneyshots New Valve

I didn’t want to see him have a meltdown and sell his gun out of frustation so I decided to modify his stock condor valve to fit the larger parts I use in my valves. I had to plug the burst disc and removal tool hole because they were drilled to deep. I will drill a shallower hole for the tool. I desided to do this because I need more than a condor valve in my reg setup for slugs. So I started on mine and will copy it for Moneyshot. Will make the stem and seal tomorrow.

Here it is. Second stem is for JSB’s.

Took 4 shots this morning with it in my Logun S-16 tank that is smaller than a condor tank.

3200 psi fill
.100 tophat

940 fps
924 fps
915 fps
903 fps

Still have to make a tool like this that pops the tophat out. This one is for my .308 and stem is larger but works.

All I ask is please don’t take it apart and try to get more out off it. 😀

thanks, rc

guess im just a beer guy with champagne taste(been out of beer, too)

remember folks,

given the means, id take a 7 ring in the ass for any of ya… 😆

(rc and doug, you guys can gimme a 9 ring, just keep the muzzle away from the bullseye) 😯

Doug is just one of the nicest guys I know, and as we have all seen one of the best machinists.

Moneyshot is cut from the same silk and is simply gold in my book.

Well I spent a day and made 3 setups. I changed the port angle and size to make sure they are more than strong enough.

Straight of the machine it did 895 fps with 3000 psi and tophat at .100″. I ported it and got 929 fps. this is with 70.2 gr 7 rings.

So I decided to fill to 3200 psi but all I had in the tank was 3170 psi. I got 941 fps.

So I would say that 3200 psi will get 945 or so fps for 140 fpe.

I also made a stem and only put a .120″ hole in the stem with 3 .120″ ports to shot JSB’s. 3000 psi, .060″ tophat got 920-935 fps with not having to change anything but the stem.

This is why the TAG is great.

Nice work and thanks

No rush. I will work on the pieces for it a little today and tomorrow. Still need to figure out JSB’s. I think it will just be a different stem with a smaller hole in it.

I made this tool for my .308 valve that makes removing the stem easy. I will send one also with your valve.

I guess I should make some and see if people want them.

ill get it posted today if all goes well…

Well I went back out in the garage and finished it. Now I have something to copy when your valve gets here. Would have been done a hour earlier if I would have just realized I was shooting 7 rings instead of 6 rings.

Right of the machine it shot 7 ring at 900 fps with .100″ tophat and 3000 fill. I could bump it up to 3300 psi but I want it to make the power on 3000 psi. Remember I think I’m shooting 6 rings so I’m looking for around 950 fps. So I pull the stem and open up the 3 ports. Now it is shooting 934 fps. So I pull the shim and that puts the tophat at .160″ and I get 944 but I know it will use to much air. So I play with the spring setup and I get it to 940 fps with .100″ tophat.

So now I figure maybe I should try 7 rings. When to open the tin I have them in and it turns out I have been shooting them all a long.

So when I make the next stem I will not open it up as much and settle for 930 fps for 135 fpe and it will make 140+ with 9 rings.

Shot a 9 ring through it. 3000 psi fill, tophat .100″ 859 fps 147 fpe.

The only problem now is slowing it down enough for JSB’s. I put a shim in that set the tophat at .050″ and they are still around 1150 fps. going to have to do 2000 psi fills and see what it does tomorrow. Might make another stem with a .100″ hole in it.

out of pellets, too… 😥

Sorry to hear your having a shitty day Bro!!!
