Q:

More test with 25 benji

For the first time in days it was dead calm this morning , rain stayed to the north around Abilene (Damit I needed it badly )
Anyway I was finally able to do some long distance shooting .
Now the wind is back , I’m low on ammo and RUSH is back on the radio after a two week absence . ( I have greatly missed his all knowing wisdom & wit , )
So this should be a good time to share some results on testing the benjis & JSBs .
I was shooting JSBs at 1000 + or – and the benjis at 970 + or – , using low fill pressures & and frequent top offs to keep the velocity at these levels .
First test at 75 yds 5 shot groups JSBs 7/8 ” benjis 3/4 ” c to c, so close it didn’t mean anything except that they are both accurate .
Most shooting done at 90 yds and the first group with the benjis blew my socks off,7/8 ” and 4 of the 5 in a 1/2 ” hole . I tryed a half a dozen times to duplicate it but could not . However most groups were around 1&1/2 ” which I think is pretty good at that distance ! The JSB groups were similar but a little larger 1&1/2 to 2”.
I made a few shots at 100 yds but was getting low on ammo and started to get a little wind . I noticed the 100yd shoots were almost 2” lower than at 90 with the same hold , so the pellets are really begining to drop rapidly at that distance. The benjis grouped almost 2” higher than the JSBs at 90yds so they may hold their velocity better .
In the tin of benjis I found twq deformed pellets which is not bad but I don’t believe I have ever found a bad JSB pellet.
I’ve got more ammo on order. hope to shoot more soon .
I’m very interested in other peoples results with the benjis .
