Yea, I’m thinking i’m going to take my posts down. If not for the obvious reason, so that others dont try it either.
Story time…Some years ago, I knew a guy who was also a reloader. He filled tennis balls with powder, stuck in a legnth of cannon fuse and wrapped it with tape. “This is cool” he said. “You should try it”, he said. He would light these things off in the canyons where we would shoot. I told him, see these fingers? See these eyeballs?” They are just the way I want them…in factory condition. Common sense prevented me from making, or “experimenting” with them.
This guy got busted for something stupid and the cops found his supply of these “destructive devices”. They locked him up and threw the key away.
I have great respect for reloading components and enough common sense to know what not to do.
I suggest you consider putting up a ‘for sale’ card at your local gun club or range. Or just look for guys picking up their handgun brass (they are reloaders usually).
Every reloader I know would jump at ten or even twenty dollars a brick. As you’ve discovered, they don’t expire. I’ve got some Berean primers that are over 50 years old and still worked fine last time I loaded ’em up.

Eh, theyre not really good for anything anyways. They fly pretty crappy and they dont really do anything extra. Waste time doing something better 🙂
Good point, it would seem so here in California (although there are also Federal laws), other states are likely similar:
CHAPTER 2.5. DESTRUCTIVE DEVICES
* 12301. (a) The term “destructive device,” as used in this chapter, shall include any of the following weapons:
(1) Any projectile containing any explosive or incendiary material or any other chemical substance, including, but not limited to, that which is commonly known as tracer or incendiary ammunition, except tracer ammunition manufactured for use in shotguns.
(2) Any bomb, grenade, explosive missile, or similar device or any launching device therefor.
It goes on to talk about cannons, RPGs and stuff, but number one would seem to include such ‘experiments’.
Now to the important bit (having defined them as DDs):
* 12312. Every person who possesses any substance, material, or any combination of substances or materials, with the intent to make any destructive device or any explosive without first obtaining a valid permit to make such destructive device or explosive, is guilty of a felony, and is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three, or four years.
No slack on this one, manditory two years in the State Slammer and a felony on the old record. I wouldn’t expect a lawyer to cut you a deal on this one, it’s specifically prohibited by the section just before:
# 12311. No person convicted of a violation of this chapter shall be granted probation, and the execution of the sentence imposed upon such person shall not be suspended by the court.
All in all, I suggest abandoning the project until you research it a bit more.

Be very careful about getting those centered and sturdy on the pellet. One clip of a rifling groove and your barrel may not take it so well.

i just got an idea , you know the little popper things you throw on the ground on 4th of july i wonder if there is a way to take that put it inside the hollow of the crow magnum and keep it in there?
or just stick it in your gun and shoot it with out it blowing up in your barrel?

Maybe you should try that on the tip of a polymag predator? It might act as a firing pin.
I guess that eliminates the need for a shroud. 😆

Well, I cant see the original post but I can get the gist of it. I used to drill out my .40 bullets and put shotgun primers in them. It was marginally amusing at best. They sell explosive rounds right over the table at any gun show out here in Arizona. You dont need a background check or anything. The laws in California might be different but they are not illegal here.
