Tried to add a pic of the target I’ve shot but can’t up load I’m using iPhone 5

I have used both and both shot crap.

I think you should have started this post saying you were shooting 18grs at sub 12 ftlbs through your R3M…

Sub 12

Ran out of jsb 18g have AA 16g 5.51 and I’m happy at the mo with what I’ve seen,

try shooting with the sun behind you, into a darker area like a treeliline – you’ll be able to see if the pellet swirls. Mine does and I’m in the porcess of figureing that out now

And it’s r3m

Thanks for replying guys movement or excessive movement was down to not tightening the breech screws enough!! I’m a tit…. But as you say shouldn’t alter accuracy. The scope is new falcon menace ffp I can swop over… One thing I have noticed is how tight I’ve been holding the gun lightly works best and the group I’ve just had is a lot better from doing this. My be a fluke and I will be doing more tests is there any reason this should affect things

The movement is normal.. the air cyl free floats in its cradle..

:hoot:

Is this Matador an R3/R3M? The shroud and baffle nut pulls the barrel tight against the breech. The air cylinder movement doesn’t really mean anything as regards accuracy, as long as you don’t have any pressure leakage.

Have you checked the baffles for any sign of pellet clipping? Have you used a chrony to ensure you are staying “on the regulator” when testing for accuracy? Are you using the same pellets as before noticing the inaccuracies? (no change in weight or brand?) Have you checked your scope mounts for movement? Do you trust the scope?

Lots of factors in a change of accuracy. The gun itself is but one. We need more details.
