Q:

Moving from regulated 1200 psi to ?

Howdy all. Have a question for the collective: My Talon is a .177, 18″ with the CO2 adapter. Using an Expert HPA tank and regulator sent for 1200psi ( leftover form my QB79). Accuracy is great —- BUT—–
Penetration on wood boards is about half of the Mrod. I would like more power. No longer have a chronograph for real-time numbers. Thinking of moving up to 1800 or 2000 psi regulator.
Any thoughts?

Ask Santa for a chronograph. Otherwise you are just guessing. 😉

Just found this. The internet is a wonderful thing 🙂

Thanks for the info. I have a spare ninja tank and will try the washer thing.

Should be easy to mod the regulator to put out higher pressure. I bought a “Pure Energy” tank from actionavillage and I use shim washers to get whatever pressure I need. On my reg, every 0.2mm of washer gives me about 10bar.

P.S. On my tank I changed the washers from ()()() to (())(( to double the pressure from 800psi to 1600. You will need to add some shims to get the stack height the same or the reg won’t work. Then I trimmed the pressure up to 1900psi using more washers. Also make sure you replace the burst disc on the low side with something stronger or you will be in for a surprise.
