Mrod-Airs Airmax Varmit PCP
Anyone know when these are going to be in stock. Mrod air said August I still haven’t seen any more info at their site.

15 yards seems like pretty close range for a rifle / carbine? I was trying to get my Varmint to group at 25 yards. Maybe it is too long a range for such a lightweight carbine?
The heavy pellets seem to do the best. Although I didn’t get any real consistency out of mine with any pellets.
Waiting to get my Varmint back from Mike, so will see how it does. I am hopeful and excited to have it back.
There is something about this little rifle that makes it really appealing and fun to shoot……so light and compact. Reminds me of shooting my trusty Sheridan Silver Streak when I was a kid hunting rabbits on my uncles farm.
LDC made alumnium tubing, delrin and baffles from BNM. Only have 20 yrds to sight my guns in fly2mike. I use 15 yrds cause it’s the distance my lazy ass sets on the deck in my love seat lol. I’m real lucky all my neighbors air gun friendly. I can shoot stuff out their trees and out buildings. mine sure likes the heavier pellets also.
looks good! Good job on the LDC! That looks great, was it made of fiberglass?

It just doesn’t seem like a good idea to grub screw the thinnest part of the barrel.
OK, sounds like good advice. I will send it back. I just hate to send it back after spending time working on the stock, trigger, etc..
I did remove the LDC completely, and just spent all afternoon Saturday trying different pellets to no avail.
Thanks, Mike

I can get better groups with my 2240 Crosman CO2 pistol with a 7″ barrel which is all stock except for a steel breech and a 1701 grip frame and 2 stage trigger.
Any body have any suggestions?
Try backing off the grub screw on the ldc or even take the ldc off and give it a try.
Yup send it back like Mike suggest.
Send it back and get another one.

Well, after spending about $100.00 on pellets, I can’t get my Varmint in .177 to group at all. This is very frustrating. I spent all afternoon today shooting various pellets, and couldn’t get a group smaller than about 1 1/2 inches at 25 yards. I have tried the H&N Field Target Trophys in all 3 head sizes. Those should be pretty similar to the H&N copper coated that you mentioned. And I would think similar to the JSB . Other pellets I have tried;

So I see several post over on yellow about the varmit. Since I can’t post over there I’ll post more here then. Didn’t even try open sights. Put my Simmons 44 mag on zeroed the scope and killed 6 sparrows at 30 yrds no problem. The air rifle shoots jsb 8.44 h&n 8.80 copper coated pellets with great accuracy. Not backyard friendly one reason I quit shooting it.
So the one I asked for awhile back is in stock?
Mike,
These do have a set screw for sear engagement.
Not a perfect trigger, but you can get them to break clean.
Please tell me there’s a 2stage trigger adjust on these.
