Mutant Take Apart/Reassemble Video…visual, no words

:hoot:

Absence an owner’s manual, any diagrams on disassembly/re-assembly, these videos are invaluable if you want to “get inside…and get back out” successfully!

This is one of several videos I have explored, and felt were detailed visually, no dialog, just “how to do it”.

(When removing the 12 screws on the picatinny rail/barrel/air cylinder…note that they are three different sizes and MUST be replaced in the proper holes. Hint: the short screws go in the top and bottom holes, longest screws go in the middle holes.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JgxLK7rjYc (2:56 Minutes Ernest Rowe Trigger Assembly Functions with dialog)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgRYWIbrjJ4 (8;56 Minutes Ernest Rowe Switch Cocking Lever Sides with dialog)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIACz6m9ELs (4:27 Minutes How to de-gas and remove barrel/air cylinder no dialog)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpHspu6m1es (3:24 Minutes Dissamble breech, cocking mechanism, HST spring/rod, valve, valve stem no dialog)

Hi,

The link for the first video is no longer active (video not available). Any clue to how/where to find it?
I need to do my first orings replacement in almost 4 years!

This a an outstanding post! A wealth of information and great illustrations. Thank you for putting this together!

Question: did anyone make an adjustment knob for the HST? Looks like that a 15mm knob with couple of small pegs sticking out can plugged into the HST screw on the outside and then just mark the fps ranges on it.

thank you for saving my pitiful and frankly useless life. BTW, how do you degas it first?

:hoot:

Check out the fourth video down from the top. Fairly simple.

I thought i try and take mine apart today – when removing the air cylinder do I need to degas the gun first? – there is also like a “collar” ring at the breech end of the cylinder – does this need to be removed first? the guy in the video seems to be able to screw his cylinder off quite easily – mine is very stiff – may need to remove the barrel first.

 You’re going to kill yourself if you don’t degas the air cylinder if you’re planning to unscrew it from the breech. There’s only one bullpup that I know of with a reservoir that can be removed from the breech without degassing and it’s the Edgun Matador. Btw, the reason you can’t unscrew this collar is because there’s over 3,000 psi preventing you from doing something really stupid. Use common sense and be safe man!

Has anyone ever needed a new valve stem? I wouldn’t mind having a spare on hand of anything that might fail over time (I have the origins). I have put over five thousand shots through mine in about six months (basically, shot the hell of it). I bet something wears out by ten thousand besides an oring. Who might carry these parts?

Thanks HooT

This should be done for all pups, like a register.

Sticky done….nice find.

As far as I’m concerned it’s sticky material. Whether it gets it or not it’s book marked on 3 of my computers. Thanks Hoot!

:hoot:

Does this have “Sticky Status”? Pretty timeless information on the Mutant, which hasn’t seemed to change much in the past several years, according to the dates on the Youtube posts.

Hoot:

Thanks Hoot,
I wondered where the cheese went, Now I know.

Nice find Hoot thx!

Did you get a Taipan yet??? 🙄
