Q:

my design: bullpup pcp

Well, for some of you this may looks like a kindergaten drawing book. But please critique my design before I start to build it.

Bullpups kick ass. A depenable semi-auto would be nice. And would inevidably kick MORE ass.

Well maybe we all got carried away with our wish lists 😀 . Cant help with the tube thickness , think its about as thin as you would go ? . There are plenty of online pressure calculators that would work the safety factor out .Good luck with the build and post away ! 8)

I was going to make a bullpup but the one thing i didnt like about them is where the cocking handle is. Maybe rather than just go with a design thats not much changed , you should make something better !. Why not …as your starting from nothing , put in a forward cocking handle ? .Shouldnt take to much to do ! and will stop you from having to un- shoulder the gun to cock.

Well, I’ve been thinking of that. But as this will be my first gun I ever build, I wont be more satisfied with that simple cocking.

Thanks anyway,
And, I’ve read your shinny things thread, great talent!

Nice, but it does have Edgun written all over it. If you’re looking for fresh ideas, how about a bullpup with some Asian flavor?

I am an asian, so I’ll go with a European. 🙂

The lever action is a slick idea.

That’s nice but I dont have the capabilty to design that. If you have detailed pics perhaps?.

Thanks,

I think a removable cheek rest might be a good idea.

I’ll think of that after I try it.

Thanks,

yes that’s an edgun-will-be. 😀 (I should remove the stock drawing from it). What I ask is about the main mechanism and structure. To be honnest this will be my first pcp I ever built, and Im not even a machinist. But I am good at design (w/o underestimate the strength needed) and have a friend who good with lathe. So before I make my mistake, that’s the question.

And I should provide more information:

for the cylinder I’ll use SS304 seamless 33.4mm OD, 3.37 wall thickness. (I’ve read most thread about it here).

to make it easier and faster to build, I’ll use local part taken from common airgun here (Im an Indonesian). that yellow thing is a multi-pump cylinder very similar to old benjamin 347, and so is the spring, trigger and hammer.
The others will be built.

This is the pics of the cylinder:

What it needs is a pump action like on a shotgun. Pump it and it cycles the mmagazine and you never have to lift your head from the gun to shoot.

FX Exterminator.

That would make these Bull pups much better!

Damit ….Shadoh noticed a BIG hole in my plan 😕 …..so put a Rapid mag on it at the same time 😀 there sorted ..hehe

…….oh and wait for the Russian back lash for copying Ed guns stock lol

Bubba,

I agree the cocking handle on those bull pups are a cop out. It is almost as if they just decided to stop designing the gun and just put the handle where is always was.

What it needs is a pump action like on a shotgun. Pump it and it cycles the mmagazine and you never have to lift your head from the gun to shoot.

That side cocking lever above does just that doesnt it Buba? Although I dont think that one is a repeater? So you would still need to unshoulder it to load.

Thats “Edd Gun” int it

I see you got Edgun Fever.

I think a removable cheek rest might be a good idea.
