Q:

My dragon slayer seems to have lost power any suggestions…

..before I call the warranty dept. and or send it back to them? The fill gauge stopped working, but my scuba tank fill says 3,000 psi is going in. When I fire at a p.t. 2×8 at 16 yards with a round ball, it only penetrates 1/4″ to 1/2″ deep and the ball bounces off the wood. This thing should be blowing right through that 2×8 with extreme prejudice. In the manual it says it has a power wheel dial…but I don’t think it does as I can’t locate one. Thanks for your advice in advance.

Cool. I am going to try a few filters beneath the light…and if that doesn’t work, I will go get some lower wattage bulbs. Thanks Marvin.

All I use are 15 – 25 watt bulbs. Remember those are sun shades Marvin

Times like this a chrony is worth every penny you pay for it . Is there any one close to you that has a chrony you can use ? Are the balls a good snug fit in the chamber? With the small amount of surface that a ball rides on they need to be a tight fit or air leaks past . In my 909 I use .454 bullets and to get a good seal with balls a .457 is needed . Good luck Marvin

That is a very interesting point. Yes, the balls do seem to fit very loosly in the chamber. Not loose enough to slide all the way through, but by no means snug. I do have a crony. Currently it is a pain to set it up outside, so I have been working on an inside set up. I built a box with two 40 watt bulbs above the sensors…but thus far it is not working properly. I will tweak it so I can utilize indoor crony testing so as not to disturb the neighbors too much.

I have some PA 200, and 250 gr. slugs that fit tighter. I will try those out tomorrow and post results. Thanks for the suggestion, melloroadman 1 !
