Q:

My first attempt at 100 yard groups

I used 21 grain kodiaks with little wind the first group was 8 shots at 2700psi then the second group with was better was on 2500psi and a 5 shot group all at 100 yards stock rifle.

I’m not happy at all with this but plan on getting the big tank refilled and work it out it sucked to only have 2500psi left in the big tank and it really bummed me out knowing I was out of air so that’s why 2700 the first group and then 2500 the second group and this was done on power wheel 8 if anyone needs that info.

thread high jack and off topic FF, but I read your footer

“As an immigrant you are supposed to take up the american culture not make us take up yours. ”

Man this is so true. I preach it religiously.

That is awesome bennie! and all the guys I served with that were immigrants in the modern sense of the word believed the same thing too and they believe enough to serve their country.

I put that in my signature due to the common copout that I hear today that “well your family came from somewhere else too why shouldn’t we be allowed the same right to come here”

My answer is that the immigrants that came over in the past assimilated into the culture here and fought for this country and had something to offer not take take take or marched down the street with their home countries flag wanting me to learn their language.

Anyway before I have a stroke back on topic, how bout those groups lol.

Sounds like basic training 🙂

Don’t worry I never hold a grudge 😈

Yeah, you’ll learn not to take ANYTHING personally on here. We all make fun of everyone, and usually when it makes someone mad, we poke harder. 😀

It’s all in fun. 😀

Awesome groups!

I’ve never been afraid to admit when wrong or say sorry when out of line.

did not mean to ruffle anyones feathers 🙁 you sir are an excellent shot.just trying to have a little fun with you.sorry if i upset you 🙁 dan yac

I was just informed that danyac is an older gentleman and said what he did with no malice it was playful jabbing and perhaps the word immature was meant as youngster or something but it’s easy to take things the wrong way since words are only half of our language the rest is the way we hear them.

I am sorry for snapping at you danyac and I never have a problem apologizing when I’m wrong or out of line so sorry.

Ok well the immature part may be closer than I like to admit especially if you ask my wife 🙂

Having to clear that last 10-15 yards at the back of the yard may have made me cranky too since I had to hand saw fallen and broken tree branches so that may be why I was a little short.

Plus a lot of money has gone into this whole thing and been competing for a long time so take things a little personal.

Great Shooting indeed! I’m interested in knowing about your zero and how you got on paper initially??? Did you have a zero set for another range??? How did you “dope” it out??? I’m not familiar with the Nikko scopes…any details to walk me through would be appreciated. I too am interested in 100 yard shooting. I am hoping to get to know my “new” rifles a little better before I make the trip to the range. It is a slow and tedious process, but thanks to all the great minds in this site, it is within reach!

Thanks grit and I took mams advice using a 14 yard zero so I could use the mil-dots through the whole range and give me basically 2 zeros one at 14 and really close to even at 65 yards.

I had it at 50x while zeroing of course.

I had to remove the sidewheel and adjust it so it read correct at 14 yards and it’s been dead on every since.

I am not changing dope just using mil-dots and they have been perfect at all ranges so couldn’t be more happy.

I used 40x mag with power wheel on 8 which turned out to put me at exactly the top of the vertical bar of the scope just past the last mil dot worked out perfect at 100 yards.

I did use 2 pieces of film negative under the back ring which put me within 7 clicks left and 5 clicks up and I was dead center.

I am in the process of working out all the dots and mags to have a better feel for various ranges as I have only a few combinations memorized.

I hope that helps a little and without the help of people on this site I would be way back in the learning curve still so thanks to all who have helped and answered my never ending questions I do plan on competing with this rifle and hope to do yas proud.

Thanks I think, not sure about the BB gun thing they are way more powerful than I had expected but also more complicated.

“BB Gun” is our little joke describing our airguns 😀 Your friends will see it as a “BB gun” and when they shoot it they will say “Now that there BB gun can shoot”…LOL

We all have experienced it. Of course we know better but our family and friends think we are crazy spending so much on “BB guns”….LOL

So we joke about it all the time.

Thanks I think, not sure about the BB gun thing they are way more powerful than I had expected but also more complicated.
