My first pistol grip in making
I am trying to build a good pcp weapon after going through the great info available on this forum. My attempt is not so good looking but I thought it to disply here so that all you knowledgeable people can rectify me in time & would provide valuable tips to improve my design.
Here follows few photographs I took while making. The grip is made from laminated veneers & being my first attempt I used different colored veneer on left & right side. This will help me see how the grip will look in darker & lighter shade at one go. It is still to be polished & filled to be stained & finished. I am planning to use leather dye for staining it & then applying a clear coat of auto lacquer as a final coat.
To make this grip I only used one each of round & flat woodruff files, 10mm Black & decker drill & two sizes of drill bits. I have not even used any kind of saw. I hope you all here will like my attempt & would post here your valued opinions & suggestions.

ah so it not for a gunpower rifle then .
Maybe a bit less ‘fat’ ? Its difficult to tell, no scale except your hand 😆
Oh yes it has become quite fat at 2″ ( 50mm ) thick. I am trying to trim it down without spoiling asthetics.
it,s a bloody good first attempt mate i would be well happy with that one . keep the pics comeing . .
for me i woould off done the drill through right away as soon as the laminate,s had dried and then u could off mounted on the rifle to get the feel for it on there . it,s one thing holding it off the gun but it,s a differant feeling ont the gun .
Thanks for your comments. I have not drilled through because I am planning to use kind of bands on air cylinder, which will have two screw holes welded or built-in. Still to be finalized.
