Q:

my FPS sound right?

Just got my F-1 chrony and did some fps test. 24″ .22 Condor is stock, except for have a talon tank (non-hi flow).

This is what I got when test on 21g Kodiak and 18g JSB

Kodiak avg = 900 fps
JSB avg =925 fps

with power set at 5/1 or 12/1 there is not really a big change, does that look right with Talon tank or tophat could be adjusted and push those out to naround 950fps?

thanks,

Much appreciated guys, I’ll be converting my rifle to .22 soon and I was wondering what I could expect performance wise.

depends on your intentions with it, but RC seems to be on the right track…but an asshole none the less… 😛 😛

Nick,

They are all different, but mine was around 1050 to 1070 with the JSB 18 grainers.

Put a 25 caliber barrel on it and Kings, 25.4 grains will be going about the same.

Xbangu,

That is about where I had mine set during the birding season last year.

You probably know this but a tip on the tophat measurement, it is really difficult to measure the top hat gap with a caliper. Go to Harbor Freight and get yourself a set of feeler gauges, that is how to measure your top hat.

If you want to set it at a particular gap, meausure out a stack of feeler gauges to the gap distance you want, then loosen the screws on the top hat and put the stack of feeler gauges in the top hat space and screw the tophat down or out until the gauges are tight in the space. Then tighten the grub screws.

This stuff is fun isn’t it?

What velocity could be expected if these tests were done with a high flo valve and a top hat set at .70? A rough estimate would be appreciated.

My tophat is around .090, too small of a gap cant get my digi caliper in. Have not chewck how much air/shot, I hope to get at least 50 shotsper fill then I’ll be happy.

That sounds good since you are using Talon valve, I’ll go measure my top hat, mine is set at .070 and is very efficient, I would guess yours is probably alittle more.

not bad, do you have any idea how much air youre using per shot? if its runnin efficiently, th adjustment could kill that with a quickness…
