Q:

My latest answer to the BullPup

My all airgun life I’ve been basically dwelling in the mid to low end guns.
Also several months ago after many years of successful PCP hunting I was feeling stale so I sold all of my guns,
I was happily living in “no man’s land” and not really thinking about PCPs, than Travis from W.A.R. sends me a FLEX .30 for field testing.

I found the gun to be built like a tank, rugged and extremely reliable, superbly accurate with a phenomenal trigger, basically all the pluss factors you expect from an High End gun.

However the FLEX design wasn’t something that would make me jump back into PCPs so I went back to my Blissful no man’s land ;D ;D ;D

Fast forward a few months and W.A.R. uncovers the WarP,……Ok,now that looks interesting, knowing what I knew of the built quality of the FLEX this new little Pistol/Carbine really turned me around since it’s a perfect gun for my needs, So I did one more thing that it’s a 1st for me, I placed a preorder, I’ve always been one that ordered only if a gun was in stock and ready to go out, but having delt with Travis a few months earlier I knew I could trust him,….Also I wanted to be one of the few firsts that got a WarP ;D ;D ;D

So Here she is

From my Experiance in Hog hunting I opted for the .25 cal and I’ll start the testing with the 27.8gr Benjamin, being a hard pellet it lends itself very well to Hog Hunting.

If you have seen me and my guns in the past you know I like to customize my guns so you’ll see some changes coming to this gun in the future 🙂 🙂

Also not having the time constrains of having to return a gun that it’s been sent to me for testing I can take my time and basically do a sloooow evaluation 😉

This think is so small and light I already can tell It’s gonna be a pleasure to carry in the woods, My hunting boots are gonna clock some serious miles ;D ;D ;D

I think I read it is a 13Ci bottle.

How big is the air cylinder?

i wanted to ask the same question … so, waiting for the answer?

How big is the air cylinder?

Just did a bit more shooting,

if I fill to 3100 psi I basically get 21 shot at POI @ 25 yards

if I fill to 200 BAR I get 14 shots at POI and the next 7 just a tad low, …pressure after 21 shots goes from 200 BAR to 140 BAR

Found my Hunting pellet.

It’s gonna be the Benjamin new version ( of which I have about 40 tins ;D ;D )

I zeroed the gun at 25 yards which is my standard hunting zero end even with a decent wind if I do my part I can keep all pellets in a rugged hole ( will do 50 yards groups when the gun is further broken down and winds are cooperating )

I imagine the Benjamin is traveling around the 940-954 fps range but I’ll know for sure once I do some strings.

At 25 yards I basically getting 3 mags or 21 shots with minimal variation, which tells me I might squeeze some more power out of this gun down the line since I don’t need that many shots.

…..For Handpumpers, at this power I need 25 pumps with my HILL after a mag or 7 shots.

The pellets are lubed with white lightning

Did I mention that the trigger is Phenomenal ? ;D ;D ;D

I already feel good with this gun so she’ll go hunting on Wednesday

Cool story there :biggrinn:

I don’t know about the trigger, gotta call Travis for that I’m afraid.

Congrats on the new gun Manny. Does the trigger come out like an AR15 Timney? Little side fact Allan Timney was my neighbor for awhile. He tuned many rifle triggers for me in his garage. RIP Allen, he was a fantastic trigger Smith

It does have a safety and the magazine design is the same as the Marauder.

One thing I want to mention, …………. the new Timney Calvin Elite 2 stage trigger is Phenomenal !!!!!!

Does it have a built in safety? Since it has a spring loaded mag, even if you manually uncock it, it will still index/double-load the next time you cock it?

Yeah, I’d like to know the barrel length as well. Is that 29″ as measured with the shroud fully extended? What FPS and FPE are you aiming for with this setup? The removable rear stock is a cool idea but I wouldn’t make that trade-off if that simply meant a shorter barrel and less effective shroud. It’s basically a bottle pistol with an add-on stock. Good for those backpacking through the woods and ideal for you in your heavy brush hunts but I much rather have a more traditional bullpup since it’s already 29″ ready-to-shoot length.

The barrel is 12″ and this gun is tuned for 55 FPE ,………and it’s a 6 Pounds gun.

I prefer this type of mini carbine compared to a bullpup because I can get the scope much closer to the barrel.

Thanks for the link Nomad.

Great info over there on the hog anatomy, and impressive shooting on the vids you posted. I’ll be watching this WarP thread closely as you start posting strings, performance, hunting experience.
