That sounds about right for your rifle Levis. I push the 18 grs around 920fps. I dont shoot the 16s much but I recall about 950fps out of those.

Accuracy really didnt change, so I went with the “heavier is better” philosophy.

I see 😉

But since you can get 0.5″ groups, am i just a poor shooter, or could my gun be less accurate?

My gun goes 955-965 fps .. That’s pretty darn fast with 16 grain jsb! That should be enough for pigeons out to a 100 yards, if i can hit ’em 8)

Hmm .. 0.85″ is okay i guess? 😉

And Sac – i will be shooting the 16 grain JSB – i was just out of them 8) So i tried the 18 grain, and they did ok too. I will have to do a test on which one is the best, i just have to get a tin home.

Do you find it shooting better with pellet lube or without it? According to what i’ve been hearing, you have to keep these S410’s dry, otherwise you will mess up the consistency.. so no oil or pellet lube?

2 – 10 shot 100 yard groups. In both groups I could cover all the holes on the target with a folded 20 dollar bill.

Roger

After you get a little better you’ll be able to cover it with a folded $1 bill.

After I get better, I’d like to cover the 10 shot group with a silver $1,

then $.25

then ,,,? (no more then, I’d be more than hapy with a silver $1

I tried the 18gr. but I don’t see the same POI after 50 yards that others talk about. My 1/4 scope and custom A-team turret give me 50-100 yard adjustment all within 1 turn of the vertical turret with 16 gr. JSB. I am so happy with that, I am not willing to switch to .18gr at this time for fear of loosing the 100 yard reach of the s410.

😆 😆 😆

Kodiaks tend to rip the o-ring in the breech. JSBs shoot quite nicely though, mine averages under .5″ @ 50y.

It didnt do that right away though, I had to learn this rifles trigger. It breaks so easily it tends to feel too light, especially after shooting the Condor.

Nice groups SAC, you don’t shoot the kodiaks?

Levis2,

I haven’t shot paper for grops in a while, been too busy playing with the Marauder.

here are some old 5-shot groups at 50 yards:

old 100 yard groups (shot the first week I got the s410)

I love this gun. From a 2600 psi fill, I’m getting 30 shots that average 940 fps with the jsb 16gr pellets. 😀

I scaled your target down to a estimate of the actual size. If I happened to do it just right, you got aprox .850 CTC with ten shots. I’d say that’s really good especially for just getting your gun. You certainly did the group at less than 1 inch from what it looks like.

Note to some viewers. If you’re resolution is set anything other than 1280×1024 the sizing you see will not be accurate. 😉 About perfect to me though Saug. Good work.

So that’s 55 yards, look pretty good to me. The photo is pretty big, hard to gauge the actual group size. Whatever it is, you’ll get better after getting familiar with the gun. What pellets you using?

I thought the group size could be determined from the holes, since everyone knows a .22 hole 8)

I was shooting 18 grain JSB exacts.

But plz have a guess on group size in CTC method.

Excellent choice maw. Walnut to. Looks like a Viper scope? Sounds like a great combo! Congrats, let us know how it works out.

You’re spot on – MTC Viper 10×44
