Q:

My new custom parts are here! :)

Today i went to the workshop to pick up my brand new, custom made, stainless steel, one piece tophat/stem, with 3.1mm rear ports, and 3.1mm stem Inner Diameter (hole).
I dint want to go all the way to 3.2mm because of fear of the stem walls being too thin.

With this new stem/tophat i have a TH clearance of .09″, wich is what from previous testing seems to work best on my rig.
(for those that dont know, my rig is a .22 condor, with a talon valve, and condor hammer weight removed).

Also, picking up from the idea i told you about here

I just installed my brand new alluminum hammer. Sorry i cant tell you how much it weights (i dont have a scale), but it was made to have the exact dimentions of the factoy one, only made of alluminum. It seems to weight roughly half of the factory one.

The crony is at a friendΒ΄s so i wont be able to get precise numbers till saturday πŸ‘Ώ but i did took a few shots at some old pillows indoors (supressor installed of course), and the one thing i can tell you from this limited testing, is that the power weel actually works now!
2700psi fill, PW at 4, the kodiak only went inside (but not all the way thru) one pillow. Turned the weel to 6, and it went thru the first one and ended up in the middle of the second one. I set PW to 10, and the pelled went thru all 3 pillows and made a dent on my wall πŸ™„

Im pretty excited about this, i cant wait till saturday for some field testing and of course crony numbers! πŸ˜€

Sounds like to me your almost setup for some fun… You do need to stay with your chrony and a way to weigh the hammer as well as your pellets…

You can get you a cheap scale to weigh things easy enough though, its basically a must to know what your doing and being able to know if your going the right or wrong way LOL…

Good luck with all this and above all, have fun dude…

I finally got to test the new parts.
With the factory tophat & stem, filling to 2700psi, using 21g kodiaks, top velocity was 930fps, with an avg of 910fps. And i got about 30 shots before ES exceeded 50fps. End fill preasure (after 30 shots) was about 2100psi.

Now, with the one piece tophat/stem, top velocity is a whooping 1009fps! 😯 with an avg of 985fps, and i get 21 shots before ES exceeds 50fps. End fill preasure is a tad below 2000psi.

I like to keep the ES below 50fps because i do a lot of long range shooting (100+ meters), and in my experience, shooting @ 100 meters (110 yards), any drop in velocity above 50fps, means the shot will hit more than 1″ below the previous POI.

I realize i did lost 10 usefull shots per fill, i got 30 before, now i get 20 (again, keeping the ES below 50fps), but i guess this loss in shot count is to be expected, after all i am getting 79fps more! those 30 shots i got before were at an avg of 38FPE, now i got a gun that puts out 45FPE, so screw those extra 10 shots. 😈

The one thing that did not work as expected, was the lighter hammer. Even tho the PW actually worked, i dint manage to acheive what i wanted, wich was to get a nice power curve from the start.
I filled to 2700psi, and velocity DID change when i moved the PW, but the gun became VERY inconsistent πŸ˜₯ 5 shots would come out arround say 950fps, and then the next one at 600fps 😳 then the next one at 980, then at 800, etc.
So i took out the light hammer and installed the factory (heavier) one, and consistency returned.

I wanted to do some more testing, but my scuba is now at 2500psi, and my kodiaks tin is empty, so those tests will have to wait till i refill my scuba and get more pellets.
So there you have it.
What you think guys? all comments welcomed and appreciated.

Sounds awesome, photos? πŸ˜€
