The new stock came in for the Marauder today from Norm at discos-r-us

it is a Boyd’s blaster thumb-hole laminate… color – royal jacaranda .. i had to do the finish on it .. as i ordered it unfinished from Norm

the price was $175 shipped with the in-letting done to accommodate the marauder action

Thanks guy’s ..those knifes are really nice ! ……the gun feels lighter with this stock …and it fit’s me PERFECT LIKE A GLOVE ! WORTH EVERY PENNY ! $175 shipped .

I used polyurethane on this one 4 coats or so then color sanded with 1500 grit then 2 finish compounds of meguiars the last was the 205 stuff .. west systems epoxy with clear hardner is the strongest stuff like a rock …I have it on my xp- ranger45 but it takes forever … and twice as hard to work with … here is a few finished pics ..it glowsin the dark now 😆

Nice looking stock. 😉

Did you get a chance to weigh it, or compare the weight to the factory stock?

Did I miss what you used to finish it with? Looks good.

I don’t use anything to finish this type of laminate wood, as it is full of epoxy and will polish to a shinny bright finish, or a satin. What ever you want. But I have the equipment to do it. Not many do.

In the Knife World it is called paca wood. ( We Knife Makers called it Wood Micarta back in the day). It was in favor back in the early 70’s thru the 80’s. Now we can’t give it away. A shame. As it is a damed good material. And makes for a very stable gun stock, if a bit heavy.

Here is a pic of a set I made in 1990 for Rocker Ted Nugent. It is Zebra Laminate. Don’t care much for the Zebra pattern myself, but Ted Loves “ANYTHING Zebra stripped. 😆
