My new shroud
Okay, so if you want a shroud for your Talon get the GTBJ shroud. I contacted Scott and he straightened me out on what would work best for me after a few polite and informative e-mails.
I got my shroud earlier today, I don’t think I waited longer than a week from the time I sent my funds to the time I got it. I’m betting he started making my order before he received my payment. I sent him an e-mail earlier today to thank him, he replied back apologizing for the delay.
So I’m giving my quick review. It is the quietest shroud I have had for my TSS to date, and I have more than a few shrouds which I’ve tried. I have all the major brands but I won’t name any here.
My setup is a TSS 18″ .22 barrel. The GTBJ shroud sticks out 7.5″ past the end of the frame and it looks as if it belongs there.

see for yourself.
I like to take the shroud off every once in a while to rememeber how loud it was and to make sure the gun still works.

Okay since you asked:
Originally, I wanted a shorter tank because I had intended to build a TSS for my nephew and he’s only 10. After using the AF more on my own I realized just what a quantum leap the AF was compared to his other airguns. I just didn’t feel comfortable with him having that much FPE without more formal gun safety training.
I’m a true blue offhand shooter, notice I don’t have a bipod on my gun. I like ’em light, quite, accurate and powerful. I like the short tank because it allows me to have a super short length of pull. Wok’s butt system allows me to have a super high cheek position. The straighter my neck the less tension in my position, more relaxation and improved shooting performance.
Standard AF valve, JDS Airman 13 cu. in. tank, tank adaptor by “bikincrazy52” and Woks strapbutt, still don’t know what this model is called.
I don’t know what my shot count is but it’s high, I don’t want to give numbers until I shoot it over a chrono to get real data. Honestly, I have so much fun shooting the Talon now that it fits, both in my shoulder and into a smaller case, I have no desire to test it further.
Scott, I’ll get you better pix when I get things together.
