My new Thumper
It’s a Career Dragon Slayer 50. I was able to shoot one of them sometime back and I just always wanted one 😀 Now all I need is to find some more old toilets to bash….LOL 😆 This gun is really fun to shoot and I put a Accushot 4-16×56 Mildot 30mm tube on it just to try this scope. The Horny…oops my bad Hornady 50.cal round balls at .495 seem to work the best and I have also tried some custom lead bullets at 173gr and 243gr HP’s. I will do more testing later but it will take time due to I can’t shoot it in my back yard It’s way to damn loud :8

Thanks Rob. In the future I think it would be nice to bump the power up a little on my DS. Who did the work on the one you shot? anything over 200fpe is great in the DS-50’s.
Photo … nice gun! I recently fired a DS-50 for the first time. This one was modified to roughly 240fpe. Nice thump to it for sure. I’d always thought they looked a bit ungainly, but in hand, it shouldered quite nicely. I liked it.
I have often thought of what it would be like to mod one of those to .308/.32, I know Tofaz has had great luck swapping his to .454….they are really nice looking guns.

Yeah BUTCHER45, I really wanted to try the 16-56mm and is a nice one, but it may not stay on the DS….we will see 8)
BigBores are a whole lot of fun. The DS’s are known to be dead-nuts accurate out of the box. Bring lots of air/ammo!

If strictly .50, probably one of Big Bore Bob’s tricked out DAQ .50s.
If you mean highest energy big bores, Dennis’ .457 will do 500-600 FPE. Big Bore Bob can get more out of them. There are also some real big, big bores… 20mm at 1000 FPE is one that comes to mind.

Nice gun photo. If they had a little bit more power I’d pick one up in an instant… I just figure that eventually they will release an updated one with more power (and right after I got one of the older versions).
It’s really one of the low powered bigbores and My plan is to keep it under 50 yards and to set the zero at around 35 yards.
I’m really thinking getting one of those.
