Q:

My new Veteran Standard .22

Just got my new Veteran Standard in .22 by way of Tony at Talon Tunes :8: Rocking deal with the DonnyFl Sumo… So very blown away by it’s accuracy, power and shot count, incredible. Just ordered a Sightron S TAC 30 4-20×50 with the MOA2 reticle for it. Right now running an old Tasco custom shop 10 50×56 FT scope. World Class quality and accuracy. Have had a lot of these things and this one has got me excited again. If anyone is on the fence, what you’ve heard is true, they are shooters….

I been in that boat, when I started nursing school when I was 19 , I had so many pistols (Firearm) you could not put you hand on a queen size bed with out touching a pistol, To help fund my school I sold guns that I had never fired before,
NEVER AGAIN,
And I know a lot of you collage kids did the same as me and ate a 99cent pot Pie with a cup of rice three times a day, Yep I ate for less than 3.50 a day.

Mike, my .308 looked RETARDED! back when I had it on. It was still just a 30mm scope tube that belled out to the 75mm objective. It came with a cheap set of its own 30mm tube mounts. I mean, I guess it worked, but not sure how well. You know when people go “house poor” due to spending too much on mortgage and have no money left to furnish the house or to eat? Well I went became “ammo poor” since I spent my wad on the gun and was young and couldn’t afford bullets.

I did buy 400 rounds of some expensive molybdenum disulfide coated Black Hills bthp ammo that I kept for my good rounds but then couldn’t afford ammo to practice with. And as we all know now, you wanna practice with what you plan to shoot with. So even if I could have afforded the cheap ammo, by the time I would have zeroed my scope to perfection, the minute I’d use my good ammo the POI would be different.

Damn I don’t miss being a kid.

Shit man what kind of rings did you put on that scope XXXXXL rings , That front bell must have been a foot off the barrel,

Haha, semi-off-topic, when I was a young fella and didn’t know any better I bought a humongous ATN 8-24×75, yes, 75mm  objective scope as it was one of the very few at the time FFP scopes for my .308 powder burner. I ought to mount that bitch up on my Benjamin Prod just for a photo op. I can imagine your Tasco with a 56mm objective being a bit large for the Taipan as well. Good idea on the Sightron.

thanks for the confirmation…shooters matter to me.

Can you please post 100 yard groups?

What pellet does your Veteran makes with its tightest groups?

Welcome. I remember reading about those Tasco’s back in the day. They set the bar for performance. Aren’t they what the SWFA SS scopes were modelled after?

Hakko is what I understood. Japanese glass, range finds very well has a mildot reticle.
