Q:

My project of the week… Drooped scope riser

Waiting for my TRS-1 to show up so I figured I’d get rid of my Tri-Rail and made a new scope riser. Add’s 3/4″ height, fit’s Condor rail length, clamps evenly from both sides to maintain windage alignment and provides 30 MOA droop compensation. I plan on painting it black and getting some BKL mounts when they become available again.

Kick down hippy!

nice work, when do they go into production, and how much?

Becouse compared to a .308 an airgun trajectory is like a dwarf pissing of a mountain. So if you want to reach out to 100+ meters you’ll need at least 20MOA 30 is good for even further!!
Nice mount. I’ve made drop in the mount for my Zeiss. Well actually shamelessly copied it from a friend of mine.

It has 0,9mm over 120mm drop I calculated it once and was over 20MOA i think.

Cheers!

Marc

production cost is probably why… 🙁

dang 30 degrees MOA? i use a 20 MOA on my .308 for 1000 yd shooting. how come so much?

just curious…not flaming anyone or any thing…

Thanks guys.

Back end looks the same as the front only squared off instead of angle cut. Channel goes all the way through so the bolts can pinch the dovetail instead of clamping on one side throwing off your windage. It’s only a very slight pinch since I machined the dovetail to fit my rails perfectly so I don’t have to worry about the riser distorting or cracking. I actually had to go back and make the center groove wider and deeper than I originally cut it out to because the aluminum was much stiffer than I thought and the 9 bolts weren’t pulling it together at all. I’ll get some more pictures up once it’s painted and the scope is mounted.

I’ve always wondered why AirForce hasn’t made a tri rail that fits the length of the Condor rail.

Good job on the build, what does it look like from the back?

Cool man. I wish I had a lathe and mill to learn on. I’d have an absolute blast.
