Q:

My R3m is misbehaving!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to pick your brains, do you know of any reason why when I charge my R3m long it changes the fps? I just shot from 200bar to 100 bar at it was shooting spot on at 550 fps, after i charged it and shot from 200 – 150 its now shooting at 500 fps.. I haven’t changed anything or played with the HST I’ve only charged the cylinder..

Any help would be great

Cheers

Just an update,

I disassembled the rifle via ernest’s viideo and had a look to see what was happening, the internal reg screw (under the one with the lefthand thread) seemed quite loose and the o ring on the reg stem seemed deformed, i replaced the o-ring on the screw and the one on the stem with the spacers and re assembled

From a 220 fill

843.3
850.1
836.5
841.2
844.4
845.7
841.8
851.3
838.9
845.6

Seems to be back on track but ill keep an eye on it over a few more strings

Hey guys,

Sorry its taken a while to reply

Its a .22 R3m Long
Had about 2500 through it
Pellets I’m using are daystate sovereigns 15.9

It was shooting very well at the uk legal limit and nowits just become wild

From what i understand and what i can figure out i think my reg might be playing up

from a 220 bar fill the gun shoots at about 491fps at 190 for about 10 shots 905-912 fps and at 150bar its shooting at 980 … With no alterations to the hst i havent shot it past 150 as the fps numbers are only going up!

Does this mean the reg is not controling the air flow?

Ive now put it on my firearms licence so that the power does not become an issue with the police so ideally when i figure out whats happening i want to set it to 900 and leave it

Cheers

Ok, I’m not the best to trouble shoot but I think the other will need additional information.

What caliber is it
How may shoots have you put through it so far
What ammo were you shooting?
Is this consistent through out the string now or was it just one shot recorded. If it was just one or a few shots, then what was pressure at that time?

I would record a full shot string or at least a few shots at several points through the pressure range. 500 fps seams real low to me, but I don’t know what limits you have where you live. If its changing through out the pressure curve, then you may need to replace the orings in your regulator. If its just going up in the last few shots of the string, the hst may need to be adjusted. If its a very new gun, I guess it could be settling in. Shoot a few strings from 210-110 and post them and the experts can chime in with better advice. Good luck…..
