My Talon SS will be arriving soon…what else do I need???
Hello all-
I am newbie regarding to AF Talon SS and how/what I should needs afterward.
I just made a puchase for a Talon SS in .22 PCP. Once it arrive and I am assumming it come with a filled tank. After it run out/low, where can I go to get it refill or what do I need to get it refill.
I do not have a scuba valve or a hand pump. Can’t afford that yet.

Some tanks come with a combined “K-DIN”… which is a DIN valve with a special K Valve adapter that screws in.

I get my tank filled currently at a paintball shop. If you have one close, it’s a little bit of a pain, but as long as you have the Airforce adapter with the fill nipple, most PB shops can fill the tank to 2800-3000 PSI. Mine fills to 3000, but since it is usually a hot fill, by the time I get back home, it’s right in the sweet spot of around 2800 give or take 50-100 PSI. The PB shop was a little leery at first, but since I had several 13 CuIn bottles filled prior to purchasing the SS they just asked what pressure, and filled it for me. The lack of a gauge was what put them off initially, and make sure if you go that route temporarily they don’t try to fill it to 4500 PSI which would blow the burst disk. I too recommend a SCUBA, or SCBA tank with supporting hardware as a long term filling method, beats the heck out of the other ways hands down.

2.If you use a SCUBA tank you will use one of two fill adapters depending on which type of valve you have. A DIN valve you will use Airforce part number AFU1060 and a K valve you will use AFU1012.
3.The Draxxus 68/45 will only be able to put out about 900psi as it has a regulator on it. You need at least 3000psi output.
4.66cf tank 3000psi tank will fill a AF tank to 2700 fill to a 1740 refill point only 4 times. The SCBA CF tanks that JD is selling you would be able to fill 24 times, but you need the SCBA adapter that Joe at airtanksforsale.com or equal.

OK so I needs:
1. A Scuba or SCBA tank
2. An Adapter for the scuba/scba tank
3. What adpater do I use to refill/transfer to the AF tank? or #2 is the adapter between the tank and the AF tank
Also, will a Draxxus 68/45 tank work. I am asking this because there a person selling paintball gear(tank) in my town.
And how many fill can I get from a 68cuft tank? shooting at high fpe

Basically you’re up the proverbial creek without the proverbial paddle. 😮 No airy no shooty. 😆 All Airforce air rifles require the air tank to be filled (they do not come filled) and almost everybody uses high pressure air fills from an air source such as a SCUBA or a SCBA tank.
First thing you want to do is find a SCUBA dive shop that can fill your tank. You ain’t gonna like a pump. 😥 Ask them if they have or know where you can find a used tank that has been Hydro in the last 5 years. You will want at least a 66cf tank. You might ask them if they can fill to 4500 and can fill SCBA tanks. If they can fill the SCBA tanks, do yourself a favor and order one of the rebuilt SCBA tanks now while there are still some left from JD, his tanks are listed in the for sale part of the forum. Best deal on the planet, and order a SCBA fill adapter from Joe at http://www.airtanksforsale.com. Don’t waste your money or your energy on a pump. You’ll hate it. 👿
Yea, you’re going to end up spending about $400 on this set up, but it’s worth every dime and you won’t end up with equipment you can’t and won’t use.
I have two scuba tanks and a fill valve for sale but shipping might be a little prohibitive. It would be almost as cheap to drive up and get them. 😆
I think the tank only comes filled to 100 psi so your not going to be able to shoot anytime soon. I don’t have a dive shop around here so I purchased a hilll pump.
