Q:

Need a little help with barrel assemble

Well, I just got this, it shoot good but there is one thing that is bothering me. This Edgun has an aftermarket shroud which work better than EOM. Not sure what is wrong during installation but there seem to be a little play on the barrel body cover, which I do not like and it’s bothering me.

Me, I think the barrel is not screw in all the way but I might be wrong. If you look at the pictures, there is a small gap which light can pass through. With that just small gap, it’ll cause the other side to have a little play. When I press my finger on it, it’ll move up/down (can not hardly notice). I have owned 3-4 Edgun before and never see that issue (maybe is all EOM). Presently this is the only one I have so noting to compare to.

Anyway any expert can help with this or recommend, I would like to try to screw the barrel in another 1/2 turn or so to close up the gap. Also, what is the max torque, don’t want to damage the barrel.

Another question is that end pieces EOM or not, I did tries to knock that down the barrel a little but it just wont move.

Here’s a bunch of pics from an old thread that shows how the OEM shroud goes together: http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28296

Got it,unfortunately I do not have any of the EOM shroud, nut or baffle. Origninal owner toss it or something.

But this aftermarket shroud is quieter than the .22 R3M I used to own and this is a .25 we are talking about. It added another inches to the gun but it’s Sooooooooooooooooo simple design. Does not effect accuracy or anything like that, I just have to live with it until I get use to it.

thanks guys!!

You need the barrel tensioning nut to pull the upper assembly together. Screwing the barrel further into the breech block won’t do anything. Go back to OEM two piece shroud with John Hagan’s adapter if you want to run an LDC on the end.

First arrow ask if the end cap is EOM

Second arrow is where the gap is at

3rd and 4th arrows, because the gap (2nd arrow) cause 3 and 4 to go p and down when pressing on it.

Original owner removed everything from the end cap and going forward.

Presently the gun do not have a barrel tension nut.

Try to pots more clear pics that your issues can be shown better. .i couldn’t get what is the issue. …

But i think your problem comes with the barrel back plug and the barrel shroud nut tensioner. ..
