Need Advice: Convert Talon SS to Talondor
I purchased a .22 Talon SS and later added a 12″ .25 barrel and then an 18″ .25 barrel. I’ve seen a large coyote near the chicken coop and find fresh scat in the yard so I’m wondering if the .25 Talon SS with 18″ barrel is up to the job or maybe I should convert to a Talondor.
I searched the site to find out if there was a clear list of parts and write-up to do this but couldn’t find what I need. Can anyone advise me on this? Is it as simple as phoning AirForce and buying the parts?
Is there a downside to this and is it reversible?

did you have to remove the entire valve body if so follow the directions in the TTTA video

Its been a few years..so no it does not have inserts it an older one with a standard adjustable tophat.
Instructions..don’t remember…unscrew the old one from the tank..put on the new one.
A vise is required to do that!
When you bought the valve from TT, did you get the adjustable one with multiple inserts or the other one? Did it come with instructions on how to swap it out?
Today I ordered a high-flow Condor tank and hammer weight from Randy at R & L. I decided to keep the original .22 Talon SS tank intact. So it seems I will end up with a .25 Talondor with 18″ TT barrel and TT shroud, all .25 caliber.
I have almost that exact setup 18′ .25..except my high-flow is from TT.
You might be able to get away shooting the 31gr baracudas, but you would be far better off using Jerry’s 6 ring 62gr slugs..for yotes
My setup can shoot right around 100fp

If yo buy the valve in parts, rather than the completed valve, it is not expensive at all. Seem like when I did mine a couple of years ago it was well under 50 bucks. In fact, it was around 30 for everything.
Why they charge so muc for it put together i have no idea. It only takes 5 min. if that much to do. 😉
You do not need the valve body it’s self. Only the internal parts, valve stem and top hat. Cheap!

I agree with Pandemic my 18″ .25 using a high flow and heavy hammer has plenty of room to push the 31 gr. pellets faster than accuracy permits.
You can but the valve is almost as much as a new bottle if I remember correctly

Since I have no need to have two bottles or return to the original setup, can I just change out the valve instead of buying another bottle?
I hope this upgrade will not detract from my upcoming chipmunk eradication season.

if i was you i would keep the 18″ .25
get a high flow tank
TT condor hammer with hammer slap mod (or just the TT condor hammer)

So far so good. All the parts arrived from Randy but somehow I stripped the Allen cap screw on the side of the power wheel. This is the screw that shows the power level. I over tightened it and broke the head off, leaving the threaded portion in the tapped hole. Does anyone know the thread size? I have a 4-40 tap and drill and plan to relocate the screw 90 degrees away.
I plan to bring the hex key and broken off head to the hardware store and match it up by fitting the hex key to another screw and hope it’s 4-40.
