Need help going short

I have 2 rifles that are both “too long”. A stock Condor and a TTT. I need my rifle for pest control; mostly starlings/pigeons. I need it to be quiet to limit exposure in my suburban neighborhood. I rarely shoot greater than ~25 yards.

My TTT (.22) has an 18″ barrel and Tony shroud. Works perfect just difficult to be stealthy as it is long and I am not so tall.

My Condor is BNIB and I’ve never fired it. I was going to fit a 21″ .25 barrel on it, which I have, but never got around to because I’ve determined it would be too loud, too long and perhaps overkill for my needs although raccoons, coyotes and bobcats have occasioned through my yard.

I’ve read a gazillion posts here (yes there are that many) and have resolved to convert one of my rifles to a ‘Stubby’ type set up with a 12″ barrel to fit within the frame. In your opinions, which is the better of my rifles to convert?

Is the Condor Hi-Flow uncontrollably loud in a short config (12″ barrel, Condor frame, + short shroud)? I once took the Tony shroud off my TTT to hear the unmuffled report and was astonished at how loud it was. I am aware that by going short I will likely increase db output.

Would the reduced FPS of a 12″ barrel mitigate over penetration for .25 at short range? Would it shoot ‘flat’ enough for small pests?

I only need one as I have several firearms for hunting and range shooting to keep me happy. Which do I keep?
