Need help with identifying a bird
I don’t have any photo’s yet, BUT this thing looks like a dove (that grayish color) when setting in a tree, Acts like a wood pecker, And when it’s wings are open they are kinda yellowish with a white strip.
I live in Central Pa been here all my life( minus a few good years being in the Army) But have never seen any thing like this here…….
Any one got a guess?

Yellow Shafted Flicker there are Red ones too. Really neat bird noisey but pretty.

yep sounds right to me. Boy can the screw an old wooded house up!!! I think it needs killed the way it’s acting.

I put the info your gave into a search and it wasn’t enough to make a determination. I think Marmot_Militia really knows his birds, too ❗

Marmot_Militia I’m not sure I’ll look it up and find out. They have been attacking a friends house the last few days.
I told him they might be after the honey bees he keeps in the attic.

Well, I think that is hard to identify if you have no picture to show. There’s so many bird or species like you are sketching to us. You must show even one of the picture of the birds you want to identify to us.
