Need some help/advice with some .25 Cal. air venturi 61 Gr.
solid core “bullets”. My friend ordered some for his .25 and they seem too big for the barrel. We’re afraid to jam them in there. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

Well Jerry thanks for the heads up. I’ll tell my friend to send you his .25 to melt down lol and order some of yours.
I doubt the pellets are worth a sizing die. I say that not just because my boys make a competing product but because I’ve learned a couple things about sizing slugs. The PA slugs have a very long bearing surface that is going to be hard to press through a die if there is any significant downsizing done. The first die might not be the right one either. Our “ring” slugs work well at .251 but they have a number of very thin bearing surfaces that can compress in the die. That allows us to start with a slug at about .253 and size down to what the customers asks for. We make some other slugs with larger bearing surfaces and the range of sizing is very limited. The PA slugs will probably only go down a tiny bit. The other thing is that if you size them to .251 they might still be too big as that big surface is not going to engrave easily as you try to push the slug in. That will leave you looking for a .250 die and doing it all over again. Oh, after you size down to .250 (if you bother) you’ll have to clean the base of every slug as they will have tails of displaced lead that will destroy accuracy faster than a poor crown.
PA came out with these .25 slugs shortly after we offered to discuss selling the Barnes slugs through them. Gary never had his call returned and I suppose they thought they had a better product available in-house. Maybe not? To me, they look like the cheapest possible design for a swaged slug with little to show any testing of performance. I’ve not dumped on them (untill now) but having set back and watched the reviews online, I’ve not seen anything to recommend them. I’m also a bit amused by the prices…
Well damn it Scott why didn’t you tell me that sooner? 😆 And yes they do suck since they won’t fit. I don’t think my friend would shoot enough of these to be worth buying the die.
I’ve heard they suck ass, perhaps it’s because they are too big, maybe buy a sizing die
