Q:

Need some help with my Talon

My Talon has been acting “funny” lately. It would shoot fine for a while then suddenly drop velocity by a couple hundred feet per second, then go back to normal. I started looking around and I found a loose broken “O” ring in the area where the hammer sits when the gun is not cocked. Sorry I don’t know the correct term for this spot. I would like to replace the “O” ring but I don’t know exactly where it came from and I don’t know if it is a good idea to try and open up my Talon. I don’t want to send tiny springs and pins flying all over. This is a Talon Tunes gun that I got this past October. Is it normal for an “O” ring to give out so soon. Thanks for you help.
Kenny.

I’d call Tony and ask him about his warranty. He tuned my Talon and did the hammer slap as well. Its still holding.

you lost your hammer slap mod 😉

honesty if you don’t want to open the gun up I don’t think it’s a big deal but you may just want to use this as a chance to learn it as well as clean the frame and what not, just make sure to note were the pre load wheel is set at so you can put it back to the same spot.
to get inside of the frame isn’t bad at all, just remove the shroud if there is one, then the screw from the wheel, but be very carrful with that part it is metal into plastic and can and will strip, them remove all 4 barrel screws and slide everything out with the muzzle pointing to the ground so all the good stuff stays on the barrel, take a pic for reference, clean and replace.

The outside diameter of the O ring is .885″ Inside dia is approx .696″ The O ring is approx .093″ thick and it appears to have dried glue or adhesive on it. It did have a hammer slap mod done. Thanks,
Kenny

What size (how wide) is this O ring? Do you know if it had the “hammer slap Mod” done?
