Q:

neoprene washers

So has anyone used the neoprene washers instead of fender washers. I see soem posts of people farting around but no real in dept review.

Do they last as long as fender, do they maintenance? Did it help quiet it down? Did you still use at least a metal one touching the springs?

I used them for a while with limited great success.

Limited because if you didnt secure them, the eventually blew out of the shroud.

Great success because when they stayed in place, they worked great.

I have since build a Blodnob type core and left the washer scene behind.

just back the neoprene with a metal washer

a talon SS with noting in it is like an empty hallway…echo all over…..

adding doors (baffels) will help but there will still be an echo between the doors….adding felt, neoprene…other soft materials is like putting in carpet, and curtains….

the saft material your gonna use has to be open cell…ei air has to be able to flow into the material, otherwise you will remove volume from the ldc…and this is bad mkay…you cant avoid removing some volume by fitting all this stuff in there but it should be minimised as much as possible

From what I have seen here and my oun experience, the washers in a shroud/TSS frame need to be able to stand up to repeated blasts of high pressure, high velocity air. Would relatively soft neoprene washers be able to do that? IMO they would be distorted after a few shots and cause pellet clipping which may or may not be dangerous. Use metal fender washers and besure.

I use one, but under my top, that works great for me. I use metal washers in the shroud, never tried the rubber ones.

Spring, washer, spring, washer, O-ring, Washer, O-ring, washer,O-ring,Washer,,,,,,,,,,,,,washer,o-ring,endcap.

Not the best, but ok for now,
