new .25 cal. non-lead/ hi BC pellet prototype in the works!
I just spoke with an individual that is working with Daystate America and one of the overseas pellet manuf. that together are developing a .25 non-lead prototype for the Air Ranger as they have abandoned their .223 barrel completely and need a “bullet like” pellet for it in .25.
It is proported to weigh about 30g and have a >.100 BC! The best part of it is that it will be sized to fit a standard .25 air rifle bore.
A BC of around .100 allows for a retained energy of about 80% of ME at 100 yards. If it comes out to the specs as above it should be brutal!

You made the right choice. Even if you stick to those puny little toy pellets you’ve been playing with lately, you’re getting a higher BC than the equivelant design in .22 and thus reduced offset for wind.
The combination of BC of .1 and non-lead AND 30gr is about as likely as me pissing in the backyard and striking oil….

A lot of wind here most of the year. The main reason I went to .25 in the first place. Hummmm!

Well, as reasonable as that sounds, a 30gr non-lead .25 bullet with a BC of .1 would have been pretty neat. The high speed end of the spectrum would have been served…
They heard jerry came out with super slugs that were awesome heavy and accurate and they just knew that it was impossible to beat, so they didn’t try. 😉

That link above will take you to the AoA page that lists the .25 version of the Rangemaster. It looks like a scaled Logun penetrator to me. The Daystate page shows these as the only .25 they offer and makes no claims about lead-free or high BC… I think they bailed on that project, if it was ever more than idle chatter to begin with.
There has been a little written on the subject on the Yellow latley. Some guns are loving them. Some not so much. So far, I’ve seen them offered in 5.54 and 5.56. Any word on .25’s?

He said he’d post when he heard more, so he either forgot about us, or the high BC pellets went the way of the AF multi shot….
