New and old 25 Cricket
Can someone tell me the difference between the improved model and the older model?
I just bought the older model Cricket , I did not know there was a newer improved model, I have my gun at Earnest now and he will get to it next week..
Any you 25 experts know of anything I can do to bring my 25 Cricket up to date ?
Earnest can do it while he has it, I guess,,

L/W have a 9 groove barrel button rifled, if you look close you can see chattering cutter rings in the bore and the CZ are 12 groove hammer forged, only longitudinal drag marks. There was talk that they were using both as they couldnt keep up with demand but I think it has something to to with L/W Germany not selling barrels in L/W USAs territory.. I think they are worried it will show up the yanky made L/W barrels as crap..
Why would KG use different barrels for different markets? Makes no sense to me. At all.
It might be a territory distribution agreement between the barrel mfg’s and KG. LW might not want their barrels on US bound guns, because of US agreements LW has with, say, Air Force or Crosman. Just speculation, but have seen this with my company’s suppliers.

I agree!….Doesn’t LW ship barrels in the “white” to be blued by the buyer, in this case CZ?

Well, my bad. Both my .25’s were with LW barrels. Don’t know anything about US barrels but here they have LW’s.

Pretty sure that it’s been stated that the US bound copies get CZ barrels.
Yeah, I thought that was established now. What makes me think we get CZ barrels is that singular greenish finish most .25 barrels seem to have that looks like no LW barrel.

And it seems its a love hate thing, The owners of the new gun love it, the older owners of the 25 cricket seem to hate it and would like to up grade if possible ,
I for one am looking into seeing what the new parts would cost for the up grade, So far its a new barrel. a new barrel holder, I really do not care for the upgraded trigger parts , some may want them , I do not… I am going to see if I can get a price list for the new upgraded parts……

Wait whaaat?
As far as I can tell all that would be needed to “update” your .25 is the new bridge/clamp assembly and possibly a new stock to accept the wider clamps and the second attachment screw….. I am 99% sure that the CZ barrels and the trigger mechanism is the exact same as before…..
The .25 has an LW barrel though …
Now that’s an insult ! I own no Beluga nor will i ever do. I feel hurt, violated and wrongfully accused.

That’s really what I need before I start doing anything, But I got to get the gun first and test a few million rounds through it. :rofl:

Was just tinkering with its replacement .22.
I had the Marauder sold and the guy backed out on me on the last minute, I was already committed to the 25 Cricket deal, Lucky for me he sent me some 25 pellets and I had some or I would be shooting the gun while saying bang bang, :rofl: I am not saying names unless he says I can, I got matching gun cases for the 22 and the 25,
I just found a real nice guy that would let me put it on layaway and pay it off in payments, I will have to shoot it with a UTG 3X9 one inch Bug scope for a while, I got to let the piggy bank recharge for a while, racking my brain on what to tell the wife as to what happened to my entertainment money, I may have to armorer all my tires and tell her I had to buy new tires, :rofl:

Ok. Now i know why then. Nothing wrong with CZ barrels. They make good barrels for powderburners. My Compact .177 has one and it’s damn accurate little Gun.
If i had to choose between German & US made LW’s ? Let’s say then there would be no choice.
