New backstop/range
My new backstop from the back porch at 81yds out…..I can do 88yds
from under the cover of the front porch or 105yds from the front
yard…You can see the old 65yd backstop to the left..I don’t know why I
was so hesitant to take down the fence before..It was the only thing
keeping me from using the whole lot….

he got lucky. Man I was looking for that picture of Elmer Fudd with his side by side tied around his head like a bowtie…but I couldn’t find it. Does anyone remember that episode?????

Well me and one of my other neighbors walked over and had a talk with
him and let him know that we were concerned to say the least…The
neighbor that walked over with me is a Marine and spent a couple tours
in Iraq..He wanted to go over the same day we heard the second whizzer
fly by and hit a barn but, I talked him out of it..He was just a little too hot
at that moment….The guy doing the shooting said he was a city boy and
thought that the hollow points that he was shooting would just
disintegrate when they hit the ground…He was shooting at a rabbit at
about 30yds out..The bullets were just skipping off the dirt and flying off
over our houses….So anyways he apologized and agreed not to shoot
the .22 rifle any more…We didn’t kill him…..lol

nieghbor over to the right…He was shooting at rabbits on the ground with
a .22 powder burner, and sending wizzers past our houses but, other
than that yea they aren’t right on top of me….It’s great being out here..

Man, that range is sweet. I am jealous. Nice property! Very spacious without neighbors right on top of you. Nice shooting! So I assume you will be hosting the first “Airforce Rifles Only” event. I’ll be there 😉

Does the wind blow day and night ?
If it settles down at night, I would get a Malibu low voltage light kit and light the target areas up.
You could go 2 different ways, the starter kits have a timer/transformer and a certain amount of lights and some wire.
I would think for your application, I would just purchase the stuff you need.
The wire is just like heavy lamp cord, and you can direct bury it.
A suitable transformer and a couple 40 or 50 watt lamps, you would be set.
Probably run ya couple hundred at most, the wire being the main cost.
All ya need to do is light up the target area.

Thanks brutus..Just aggrevating that I let the pressure get the best of
me…When the negative thoughts start to creep into the cranium it ain’t

Shot my first 8 shot group this morning on the new backstop. JSB 15.9gr.
It is exactly a 3 mil-dot holdover @ 80yds..This Beeman Falcon is just
incredible….One of these days I will figure out how to be more
consistant…The 3 flyers where back to back and I knew before I pull the
trigger that they weren’t going in.. The pressure of screwing up a
perfect group just tweaks my head …Once I calmed down the rest when
where I wanted them to go..Zero wind this morning

Windy most of the day with rain..late this afternoon it calmed down some
and it was doing 1″ groups on the 80yd target….I was mostly screwing
around with it to find the Click settings at 65 and 80yds so I can print out
some range cards with Chairgun…..It is doing good but not quite as good
as the Falcon….The Falcon is really tough to beat….More tomorrow…I’ll
try to post some pictures of the groups…
